On April 02, 2026 Our 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (𝐂𝐃𝐀𝐬) 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐳𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐇𝐂𝐃𝐈) officially commenced field activities, fully prepared and equipped with essential tools to ensure effective and high-quality community engagement.
Prior to deployment, the team underwent thorough preparation, ensuring they had all required materials, including data collection tools, identification badges, and program implementation guidelines. This reflects our commitment to professionalism, accountability, and evidence-based community work at the grassroots level.
Well-prepared CDAs play a critical role in strengthening community systems by ensuring:
●Accurate and reliable data collection
●Effective household and youth engagement
●Improved targeting of nutrition and livelihoods interventions
●Stronger delivery of sustainable agriculture and youth empowerment programs

Through the efforts of our Community Development Associate (CDA), Heza Community Development Initiative (HCDI) continues its commitment to evidence-based community transformation.
During a field visit, our CDA engaged with a teen mother in her home environment listening, observing, and documenting real-life challenges affecting maternal and child wellbeing.
This interaction marks an important step in our ongoing data collection process, aimed at generating accurate, community-level insights.
At HCDI, we believe that sustainable development begins with understanding people’s realities. The data collected will directly inform our interventions under the Health and Nutrition Improvement Program, ensuring that our actions are responsive, targeted, and impactful.
Beyond data, this visit reflects trust-building, empathy, and our human-centered approach to development where every voice matters and every story counts.
We are not just collecting data;
we are laying the foundation for informed action and lasting change.

On this 32nd Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi, Heza Community Development Initiative (HCDI) stands in solemn remembrance of the victims and in solidarity with survivors.

We honor the lives lost, reaffirm our commitment to unity, and strongly reject genocide ideology in all its forms.

Let us continue to build a future grounded in truth, resilience, and lasting peace.

𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓- 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒘 - 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆

On February 28, 2026, Our Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Community Development Associates have met and aligned on how to launch our four key programs. Here's what's coming:

🥗 1. 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 & 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
We are launching community-based initiatives to fight malnutrition and child stunting. Our teams will work directly with families especially mothers and young children promoting healthy eating habits, nutrition education, and access to balanced diets for stronger, healthier communities.

🌿 2. 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 & 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
We are taking action to protect our environment. From tree planting and waste management to climate-smart agriculture, our program will equip communities with practical tools to adapt to climate change and preserve natural resources for future generations.

💼 3. 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 & 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
We are empowering youth, women, and vulnerable groups with skills, training, and support to build sustainable sources of income. Through agripreneurship and entrepreneurship, we are helping communities stand on their own feet and thrive economically.

📚 4. 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 & 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲
We are building awareness and evidence-based solutions. Through community education, research, and advocacy, we will amplify the voices of those we serve and push for policies that support inclusive and sustainable development.

The foundation is set. The work begins. Together, we rise! 💪🇷🇼

🎓 Exciting News from HCDI!

We are proud to announce the successful completion of a 2-day (26 to 27/02/2026) intensive training for our Community Development Associate (CDAs) on:

✅ Commercial Diplomacy
✅ Health Technology
✅ Climate Change Mitigation

This impactful training was made possible through the generous support of the 🇺🇸 US Embassy, in partnership with LEAD and BIOCOOR.

Our CDAs are now better equipped to drive sustainable development, promote health innovation, and contribute to climate resilience in their communities.
