At RATA, we believe innovation is for everyone. Through coding, hands-on robotics, and assistive technology training, we are equipping youth with disabilities with the skills to innovate, solve real-world challenges, and thrive in the digital future. This is our second cohort that includes the best performers from our digital literacy training for youth with disabilities in the community being ready to be part of innovators and participate in the digital economy.

Last Week, RATA was pleased to attend the kLab graduation ceremony, celebrating young people who successfully completed training in Software Development, IoT, and Data Analytics.

We were honored to collaborate with kLab in equipping young persons with disabilities with digital skills through the Digital Skills for Employment Program, led by DOT Rwanda and supported by the Mastercard Foundation.

The event was also a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the power of collaboration in advancing inclusion and creating equal opportunities for all.

Today, RATA was pleased to meet with the Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development in Musanze for discussions on advancing access to Assistive Technologies (ATs) and digital inclusion for persons with disabilities.

The meeting highlighted the importance of equipping youth with disabilities with digital skills to enhance their participation in social and economic opportunities. Through its Digital Literacy Training of Youth with Disabilities for their Socio-Economic Development project, RATA continues to support digital empowerment in Musanze and other parts of the country.

RATA joins all Rwandans in celebrating Kwibohora32 🇷🇼. As we honor the heroes who secured our freedom, let us continue building an inclusive, united, and prosperous Rwanda for all.

Last week, RATA continued its digital literacy training in Musanze District at Musanze Hanga Hub center, equipping youth with disabilities ♿ with practical technology skills that promote independence, expand opportunities, and support their meaningful participation in the digital world. The training empowers participants to confidently use digital tools in their daily lives, education, and future careers.

This initiative reflects RATA’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital inclusion and ensuring that persons with disabilities are actively engaged in Rwanda’s digital transformation.

However, in low-income countries, only about 10% of people who need these essential products are able to obtain them, highlighting a significant global gap in access 📉
This limits independence, inclusion, and opportunity for millions of people.

Today, we join the world in observing Global Accessibility Awareness Day by reaffirming our commitment to a more inclusive and accessible future for all. At RATA (Rwanda Assistive Technology Access), we work daily to break barriers and ensure that persons with disabilities have equal access to education, communication, digital technologies and employment through assistive technology, awareness creation, advocacy, and capacity building.

Accessibility is not a privilege but a right and a foundation for equal opportunity, dignity, and participation. Together, we continue building a world where everyone can fully take part without limitations. 💙
