GIS Technology Innovation Center

KACST GIS Technology Innovation Center at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) is an interdisciplinary technology, innovation, and research center contributing to the effective understanding, managing, analyzing, and visualizing of spatial and spatio-temporal geographic phenomena in Saudi Arabia. GIS presents the backbone support of mapping technology, road networks, transportation, water resource management, land information systems, urban planning, crowd management, location-based services, among others. The GIS TIC is dedicated to technology transfer, fostering innovation ideas, applied research, outreach activities, professional training, and industrial and governmental partnership. It supports technology transfer from the scientific to the application domain serving not only academic research, but also a number of regional geospatial industry.
