And we’re live!!

Yesterday I took the stage at LEAP with a belly full of nerves.

I wanted to make my keynote perfect.

I wasn’t sure how it was going to go…

But when I got up there, I found I was a complete natural! 😍

I gave a keynote on;
Driving Tech, Investment & Policy to Create Smart Cities.

I’m doing my FIRST in less than 3 weeks…

It’s something I’ve always dreamed of;
But now the nerves are kicking in…

Luckily I have next week to practice ;)

My favourite takeaway was something Elena said: “We are 5 women talking up here today about gender diversity. Why does it just have to be women? Why don’t men discuss diversity?”

Well done to all the speakers, organisers and winners. One of my favourite events in a long time 😍

Confession:

I have 6 major talks this year, but…

I’m nervous as HECK.

I’ve been staring at a page with just a title on for weeks:

“Ecosystems: How Bridging Tech, Investment, Generations and Policy Is The Key To Climate Change”.

But the point is, you’ll see a lot of polished content online;
Not the reality.

And in 5 weeks, you’ll most likely see some fantastic content.

, , Women’s Global Investment Summit…

But behind it, was just another human who was nervous as HECK but still went for it 💜

I can’t believe I’ll be speaking at the BIGGEST tech conference in the world, 😳

And in Riyadh, Saudi!

I’m a firm believer in ecosystems, so my keynote will be about: “Ecosystems: Bridging Tech, Investment, Generations & Policy To Solve Climate Change”.

Sounds cool, right?

Well, what’s even COOLER is that .earth will be launching 3 game-changing technologies there.

I’ll be meeting with top investors who want to get behind digital twin and decarbonisation technologies.

(My) 2nd day Davos.

This panel was a bit of a breath of fresh air to be honest.

“Enabling Energy Transition in the Global South: Perspectives on Investment, Leadership, and Risk Management”.

✘ It wasn’t too rigid, but had structure.
✘ It was authentic with very little polite panel politics and instead we just spoke our minds.
✘ Everyone had genuine value and actionable insights to contribute.

Think we did a great job!! 👏🏼😍 thanks for hosting us.

2 years ago I won my first award.

6 years ago I got my first corporate job.

5 years ago I got my first promotion.

4 years ago I was made redundant.

3 years ago I started my first business.

2 years ago I started making money.

1 year ago I started gaining huge traction.

This year, we celebrate how far we’ve come;

With huge tech.
Global partners.
Major investors.

Hindsight gives perspective: Life may not seem “successful” all the time, but when you zoom out it’s pretty great 😎

Ambition doesn’t grow companies;

Focus does.

→ Founders love going A-Z.
→ When really we should be looking to go A-B.

They’ll look to build all this big stuff with lack of focus or commercialisation.

First thing we should be thinking of as founders is “where is the money at”?

Working on things that move the needle and not just “look good” is at the heart of any successful company.

Like “brand awareness”.
Crikey; you need to go TO your customers.
Not put out a useless post in hopes of attracting them.

So let’s stop hoping and focus on go-GETTING. 📣
