A domain can call itself “official”, “verified” or even “not-phishing”.
That still does not make the wording evidence.
A new research preprint tested whether short claims inside constructed brand-like domain names could change how AI systems judged them. It covered 622,080 judgements across five language models and 64 brands.
The effect varied.
In one setting, a group of risk-denial terms reduced alerts by 45.3 percentage points. In others, similar wording increased alerts or made little difference.
That inconsistency is the useful lesson. A model should judge the name, not accept the name’s own description of itself.
The research used constructed names rather than live attacks, so it does not show that a real scam would succeed. It does show why “official” inside a domain should never count as independent proof.
A domain can describe itself. It cannot verify itself.
Would the word “official” make you more suspicious or less?

Listing a domain for sale and selling a domain aren't quite the same thing.
The traditional process is often:
Buy → List → Wait
But the listing is really just the place where the transaction can happen.
There's still everything before that:
Position the name.
Work out who could use it.
Research potential buyers.
Get it in front of the right people.
Follow up.
Track what you've already done.
I've been thinking a lot about that difference while building Next Big Domain.
Domain selling shouldn't stop at listing.
If you invest in domains, are you mainly waiting for inbound buyers or actively marketing your names?

Here's a simple domain test that costs nothing.
Tell somebody the name once without showing them how it's written.
Ask them to spell it.
Then ask them tomorrow if they still remember it.
If the name survives both tests, you've already learned something useful.
Domain metrics matter, but eventually a name has to work with real people.
What tends to make a domain memorable to you?

I think short domains sometimes get more credit than they deserve.
A five-letter name might look neat, but that does not help much if people cannot spell it after hearing it once.
A longer domain can still be the stronger choice if it is clear, memorable and easy to type.
I would rather own the name people understand straight away than the shorter one that needs explaining.
Short helps. Clarity matters more.
Which would you choose?

Changing a name is easy. Asking people to trust a new web address is harder.
The Westaim Corporation announced its change to Aventus Capital on 14 September.
Visit westaim .com and it does not silently send you somewhere else. A short page first says that The Westaim Corporation is now Aventus Capital.
The visitor can then choose the link to aventuscapital .com.
That one sentence joins the old and new identities before asking someone to trust an unfamiliar address.
Aventus has not said why it chose this setup, but the effect is useful. A redirect moves traffic. A handover page can explain the change.
Would you show a handover page first or redirect immediately?

Some domain names need a long explanation.
GreenSoilTech .com does not.
It could suit soil analytics, field sensors, regenerative agriculture, land intelligence or crop-input technology.
The EU’s Mission Soil says 75 projects have received a total EU contribution of €542 million. That does not guarantee a domain sale, but it shows that the category is active.
GreenSoilTech .com is currently in a seven-day, no-reserve Dynadot auction. It ends on 18 September and bidding opened at £495.
You can find it by searching for GreenSoilTech .com in Dynadot User Auctions.

A fact I came across today: soil moisture can be measured using cosmic rays.
COSMOS-UK has 40 monitoring sites across the UK. Each uses an above-ground sensor to measure soil moisture across about 12 hectares, or 30 acres.
The information can be used for farming, water management, flood forecasting and land modelling.
It is a good example of what green soil technology can actually mean: sensors, data and better decisions.
GreenSoilTech. com is currently listed in Dynadot’s user auctions. The starting bid is £495 and the auction closes on 18 September.
