KAUST alumni participated on a panel in the inaugural Summer School for Batteries, a two-week program led by Prof. Husam Alshareef. This initiative aims to equip young Saudi students with essential knowledge and skills in energy storage and battery technology, enabling them to contribute effectively to renewable energy integration and sustainable solutions.

The alumni panel, moderated by Abdulrahman Basaqr, shared their experiences studying Material Science at KAUST and discussed their current work. A heartfelt thank you to Eman Alhajji (PhD ’22, MS ’20), Zahra Bayhan (PhD ’23), and Abduljabar Al Sayoud (MS ’10) for sharing your time and expertise with the next generation of Saudi innovators.

On May 16th, the Alumni Affairs team hosted the Spring Graduation celebration at Al Marsa Restaurant, honoring our newly graduated students. The international family of alumni who have completed their studies now stands at over 3,100 strong! We offer our heartfelt congratulations to all our fresh graduates and are eager to stay connected with you all. Welcome back to KAUST alumnus Dr. Myles Bohon (PhD '16). Dr. Bohon returned to campus to speak at the CCRC organized KAUST Research Conference: Aerospace Propulsion and Energy Systems (APES 2024). He is a guest professor and Chair of Pressure Gain Combustion at the Technische Universität Berlin, Institute of Fluid Dynamics and Technical Acoustics since 2019.

The KAUST China Alumni Chapter hosted the "KAUST Alumni and ShenTech Reception" on January 13, 2024 in Shenzhen, uniting KAUST alumni in China with ShenTech Bootcamp participants.

With more than 10 ShenTech entrepreneurs and 17 alumni, the event buzzed with energy. The gathering was a catalyst for collaborative initiatives, fostering a promising alliance between Saudi Arabia and China in science and technology innovation. It marked the beginning of a transformative journey, paving the way for future breakthroughs in global innovation.

KAUST Innovation Hub's Director, Professor Jinchao Xu, Mr. Hattan Ahmed and Ms. Yali Zhang shared KAUST latest developments. KAUST Alumni and Saudi entrepreneurs showcased their ventures through engaging speeches, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Beyond the presentations, the event promoted meaningful connections and fascinating discussions.
