To my dearest daughter, Janice Veikoso (Veiko), who turns one year old today happy 1st birthday, my precious girl. ❤️

On this day, 24th July, one year ago, I wasn’t there to witness the moment my firstborn entered the world. I was away at the time and couldn’t be by your mum’s side or spend the first month and a half of your life with you. That will always be one of my biggest regrets.

I will forever be grateful to our family and friends who stood by my wife and our newborn daughter during those precious first days. Your love, prayers, and support came when we needed them the most. We are truly blessed to have each of you in our lives. Because of your kindness, Veiko has grown into a healthy, happy little girl, and today we celebrate her very first birthday.

Since you came into our lives, everything has changed. Becoming your father has given me a whole new purpose and responsibility. Your mum and I continue to learn every day as we do our best to raise you with love, wisdom, strong values, and the right discipline. Watching you grow has been the greatest blessing we could ever ask for.

Many people have asked how you got your name. Your full name is Janice Veikoso, affectionately known as Veiko or Vhey. On the very day you were born, the legendary George “Fiji” Veikoso passed away. I was staying in Side River, Santo, when I received the heartbreaking news of his passing, and I couldn’t hold back my tears. Just minutes later, I received another phone call telling me that you had arrived. It was Papa Sharzy who suggested naming you after the late legend, and we knew it was the perfect way to honour someone whose music had inspired me for so many years.

Happy 1st Birthday, my beautiful daughter. Mum and Dad love you more than words can ever express, and we will always be here for you.
