Kinda chic working towards a better future for our next generation 💜
A future where young people feel informed, supported, and protected.
A future where children grow up surrounded by safe adults and stronger communities.
Because prevention is not only one conversation, one workshop, or one programme.
It is the everyday work of building a society where young people can feel seen, safe, and supported.
And honestly?
That will always be kinda chic.

Why do we wait until something happens?
As a community, we often react after a crisis. After harm is exposed. After a young person is already affected. After a situation becomes impossible to ignore.
But prevention should not begin at the moment of damage. It should begin earlier.
With conversations. With education. With safe adults. With access to guidance. With support systems that young people and families can rely on.
At Elles Foundation , we believe that if we want different outcomes we cannot keep waiting for something to happen first.
Grooming does not always look obvious at first.
Sometimes, it begins with attention, kindness, compliments, gifts…
Making a child feel special, chosen, or more confident than before. That is what makes it difficult to recognise.
When attention comes with secrecy, pressure, dependence, isolation, or control, adults need to pay attention.
Young people need to understand what healthy attention looks like. And adults need the awareness to recognise when something does not feel right.
Protection starts long before danger becomes visible.

When you ask your kid about school, does it sound like this:
How are your grades? Did you finish your homework? What do you want to study? What do you want to become?
And those questions matter… But just a reminder to make sure we are not forgetting the other part: relationships.
In a world where young people can access information instantly, guidance matters more than ever.
What do you think about the “soft skills”?

What changes after a workshop?
Through our workshops, we create spaces where young people can talk about topics they may not always feel comfortable discussing elsewhere: relationships, consent, sexual health, boundaries, communication, and where to seek support.
Because information does not only give answers. It helps them recognise situations differently.
And sometimes, that shift in understanding is where prevention begins.
Share this to help us in our mission! Together we will build a better tomorrow.
Sometimes exploitation does not look like danger. Sometimes, it looks like easy money.
An opportunity that seems private, harmless, or empowering.
But when a young person is encouraged, paid, pressured, or manipulated into sharing sexualised images or videos, this is not empowerment.
It is exploitation.
And it becomes an even greater safeguarding concern when an adult, an older person is involved.
Young people today are growing up in digital spaces where attention, validation, money, and visibility are deeply connected. That means conversations about safety also need to include online spaces.
They need guidance about digital boundaries, body autonomy, consent, privacy, and the long-term risks of sharing content online.
And adults need to understand these conversations too, not to shame young people. But to protect them before someone else misleads them.
Share this to reach more caregivers on the digital space.

Many of us grew up hearing about “stranger danger.” And while that message still matters, it is not enough.
The reality is that many unsafe situations do not begin with a stranger. They may involve someone a young person already knows, trusts, or feels emotionally connected to.
That is what makes it difficult, and it is why safety conversations need to go deeper.
Young people need to understand body boundaries, safe and unsafe secrets, emotional pressure, grooming, and who they can talk to when something feels wrong.
And adults need to know how to listen calmly and respond with protection, not shame, fear or anger
Unsafe situations do not always begin in ways kids can easily recognise.
Sometimes pressure can be disguised as care. Control can be disguised as protection. Secrecy can be disguised as trust.
That is why young people need guidance before the red flags become obvious.
They need to understand what healthy attention looks like. What respect feels like. What boundaries are. And why confusion, pressure, secrecy, or fear are signs they should be able to talk about with a safe adult.
Education is not about creating fear. It is about helping young people recognise situations clearly before they become harmful.

Life is a whole journey, and harmful behaviour does not appear overnight.
It is shaped by the messages these people receive, the behaviours their guidance excuses, and the conversations they avoid having with them.
This is not about blame.
It is about making sure we can amend and build a safer future for upcoming generations.
