This week we had a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) workshop to teach old and new members alike to preform such simulations 🐸

What a weekend with no testing looks like in RAVEN!

With new members coming into the project we took the weekend to make sure everyone is well integrated into the team 😀

We did some fun activities such as a board games night with pizza, a full day of skiing + grill at the slope and a chess tournament.

Beautiful weather this weekend ☀️ Perfect time for another hotfire test! And this time we reached a new record thrust, about 100N more than previous record!

We’ll be beak soon with more tests and updates🦅

Another cold flow test done! Here is a few behind-the-scenes photos of the raven team doing an caw-some job 🦅

This semester Raven has welcomed quite a few new faces and one of the main goals of this test was for them to get some hands on experience!

June 3rd 2022 was the Critical Design Review (CDR) for Project RAVEN. Although there has been tough times, we are proud to announce and we quote "You have passed a high level CDR! ". 🎉
We would like to thank all of the project's members, both active members and alumni, for their hard work and commitment to have brought this project to where it is today. And a special thanks to all the supervisors and review board members for their honest and heartily remarks.
Once again, a proud moment for Project RAVEN 💙

Next up in RAVEN members introductions: our lead systems engineer Jessica!

🌍I moved to Kiruna from Kildare, Ireland, to pursue the Astrophysics, Space Science and Planetology track of the Space Master program. My bachelors degree is in Theoretical Physics, and I have a previous masters degree in Philosophy of Consciousness. I've always been fascinated by the blend between physics and philosophy. When I became more and more absorbed by astrophysics, I realised it was time to pursue that path and merge those interests - and there was no more exciting place to do it than in Swedish lapland!

👤I was recruited to RAVEN last September as the lead systems engineer with the project. My main responsibilities entail addressing the engineering aspects of the project, developing the documentation, ensuring requirements are met and negotiating technical issues as they arise between subsystems.

🚀Being a part of RAVEN is certainly tough work, but it is immensely rewarding to be a part of such a committed team. As the project moves forward, its needs are constantly changing and each phase brings new demands. When issues arise, we devise solutions together. It is an intensive introduction to all that development of a mission like this entails and a great first glimpse into work within the industry.🚀

Happy holidays from Project RAVEN!🎄

We would like to thank all team members, supervisors and partners for this year!

2022 looks exciting for team RAVEN, as we are getting closer to the critical design review and plan to fire our rocket motor for the first time. 🔥
