Preparedness Week is underway in Sweden!
Every year, Preparedness Week brings together organizations across the country to strengthen societal resilience and raise awareness of emergency preparedness. The week is led by the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency (MCF) and involves many organizations working simultaneously to strengthen the resilience of residents.
Region Östergötland is hosting exhibitions and information events at all regional hospitals. Emergo Train System (ETS) is proud to participate by showcasing how ETS can support both planning and capability assessment in crisis and disaster medicine preparedness.
Through simulation-based analysis and decision support, ETS helps organizations evaluate readiness, identify gaps, and strengthen their ability to respond effectively to major incidents and disasters.
We look forward to engaging discussions on preparedness, resilience, and the importance of being ready for future challenges.

Strengthening the ETS Instructor Network in the UK
So far this year, the ETS UK Faculty has delivered three ETS Senior Instructor Courses across England: Bristol in March, Leeds in June, and Birmingham in July. A total of 68 instructors have been certified through these courses, further expanding the ETS instructor network across the UK. During the courses, three new Educators were also trained and have now joined the ETS UK Faculty.
Since its establishment in 2011, the ETS UK Faculty has certified more than 500 ETS instructors, making a significant contribution to the continued growth and development of the ETS.
Congratulations to everyone involved!

This week, the ETS Competence Center hosted an international ETS Senior Instructor Course tailored for staff from the Norwegian Red Cross (NorCross) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The ICRC uses ETS for training and simulation activities worldwide and is a key partner for us in the development of the ETS Humanitarian Set, which is designed to support training initiatives in low- and middle-income countries.
We are delighted to collaborate with such an important partner and proud to announce that 22 new ETS Senior Instructors from NorCross and the ICRC have successfully completed the course and are now certified!

🔹Developing a New ETS Patient Bank for Paediatric Stabbing Incidents
The UK Emergo Train System (ETS) Faculty, in collaboration with Barts NHS Trust in London, and based on patient outome categories provided by the ETS Competence center, has developed a new research-based patient bank featuring school-age children with stabbing injuries.
The project addresses a growing challenge facing emergency healthcare services and aims to strengthen preparedness for complex incidents involving paediatric trauma. The new patient set was tested during an ETS exercise in London on August 13, evaluating clinical pathways, communication, coordination, and hospital response capabilities.
🌍Following evaluation, the goal is for the patient bank to become part of the global Emergo Train System portfolio, supporting ETS instructors worldwide in training hospitals and first responders.

In June, the ETS Faculty in the United Kingdom delivered a Senior Instructor Course at Weetwood Hall in Leeds. During the course, participants developed their skills in planning, setting up, running, and evaluating exercises using ETS.
The training also provided an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, build professional connections, and further strengthen the ETS instructor network. Since its establishment, the UK Faculty has successfully trained close to 500 Senior Instructors, making a significant contribution to the continued growth and development of the ETS community.
A big thank you to all participants and faculty members who made the course a success! 👏
