Mile 38 Computer Learning Center

We at Evangel Temple Full Gospel Church would like to invite you to sow into the Kingdom by investing in missions work in Sierra Leone, Africa. Mile 38 is a Sierra Leone-based orphanage that meets the essential needs of children-- providing them with shelter, safety, food, education, clothes, and affection. Mile 38 operates a church and school on-site and hopes to transform the futures of those they serve through tech-literacy, thus ensuring they will be able to compete in the global job market. They are seeking support with establishing a 20-computer learning center. To understand the need, it is important to understand the context. Sierra Leone is a developing country whose progress has been stifled by war, internal conflicts, and disease. Due to the most recent Ebola breakout, Sierra Leone has a fast-growing number of orphans, many of whom will never have the opportunity to receive an education, reach financial freedom, or have good health. Only 43 percent of Sierra Leone’s population is literate. The average life expectancy is 60 years. The average adult makes less than $4,000.00 each year. Mile 38’s vision for the youth they serve is that they would defy the odds and have an opportunity to access living wage jobs through digital literacy. We at Evangel Temple have partnered with Mile 38 over the past decade and can bear witness to the incredible work and ministry they have been doing abroad.
