Learning Together. Growing Together. Building Partnerships.
Today, the SHATA team had the privilege of visiting the Fortescue Green Pioneer, the world's first ocean-going dual-fueled ammonia-powered vessel, during its visit to Suriname. Our journey began at the Marriott, where we gathered as one SHATA family. From there, we were picked up by our ground transportation partner and fellow SHATA member, Garage D.A. Ashruf, a family-owned Surinamese company with deep roots in the tourism sector, offering airport transfers, car rentals, and shuttle services. Shaeif took the lead in making sure we arrived at the port safely and on time, and from there our journey began. Onboard, the tour offered valuable insight into innovation, sustainability, and the future of green maritime technology.
As Suriname continues to position itself as a leader in tourism, energy, and investment, opportunities like these deepen our understanding of the industries shaping our country's future.
Beyond the visit itself, it was a wonderful chance to come together as a team, learning together, sharing ideas, strengthening relationships, and continuing to grow as an organization.
A special thank you to Fortescue for the warm welcome, the informative tour, and the opportunity to experience this remarkable vessel firsthand. Our appreciation also goes to Garage D.A. Ashruf for getting us there smoothly and on schedule.
We look forward to continued collaboration and to building stronger connections across the tourism, maritime, and energy sectors.

Some songs are more than melodies, they are prayers, memories, and a reflection of who we are.
Mi Kondre Troe reminds us of our love for Suriname, the importance of family, unity among our people, and faith in God. It speaks of a nation where we care for one another, honor our roots, and work together for a brighter future.
Every time I hear this song, I am reminded that Suriname's greatest strength is not its rivers, forests, or resources, it is its people. May we continue to build a country filled with love, peace, respect, and opportunity for generations to come.
