The Deputy Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State and Acting Governor, H.E Deng Akuei Kak, accompanied by senior government officials, inspected this evening the state’s arrangements for the 16 May1989 anniversary celebrations .

Prominent Teacher, Ustaz Deng Thonjak, wrote open letter to H. E Deputy Governor of Jonglei state, Cde, Hon: Wilson Awuol Gajang Awuol today to address the current insecurity in pigi county. The insecurity that has created a great gap and caused land damage since south Sudan war, and people of pigi were forced out of their homeland in 2015. In his article he cited,

"Dear deputy governor I hope this letter will fine you well. My letter ✉️ to your office is specifically asking for your roles that can solve the permanent insecurity and marginalization of the isolated Pigi County of Jonglei State, a county that had suffered for decades lacking health, education and other social services which other counties had been enjoying since those years till now. I am not addressing this letter ✉️ as a Pigi County son but as a deputy governor of Jonglei State that can at least solve this marginalization even if its half will be of a good leader.

Dear deputy governor, Pigi County had been punished politically and developmentally, yes when will all these sorrowful mysteries and prolonged exposure of flood be beared when there are no proper attention from the state government as well as the national government that have been seen done to others counties.
As a young man from Pigi County and regularly been to the county, there are no proper education structures (schools) as well as health structures too. And there are education and health projects in the county but the county government or authority seems not to be directed on what to do that gives civilians services delivery as every successful community does in other counties.
It would benefits us the Pigi County citizens for the county being relocated to Upper Nile State where the county is currently getting services though harshly delivered but considered better than the so called Jonglei where no one knows its headquarters".

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced the appointment of Amb. Agok Anyar as its new spokesperson, replacing Thomas Kenneth Elisapana.

Amb. Agok previously served as Deputy Head of Mission at the South Sudan Embassy in the United States of America, where he played a key role in advancing diplomatic engagement and bilateral relations.

The appointment, made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Morgan Pitia, reflects the ministry’s confidence in Amb. Agok’s diplomatic expertise, leadership, and strategic communication capabilities.

In his new capacity, Amb. Agok will lead the ministry’s public affairs and media relations portfolio, serving as the principal liaison between the ministry, the media, and the public on matters relating to South Sudan’s foreign policy and international cooperation agenda.
