Building Peace Through Natural Resource Governance.

The SSWOCO Natural Resource Management Validation Workshop in Malakal opened with strong government representation — a clear commitment to ending resource-based conflicts in Upper Nile State.

Resource conflicts are one of the leading causes of violence in South Sudan. By bringing government, communities, and civil society together around the same table, SSWOCO is helping build the foundations for lasting peace.

These are the faces of resilience.

In Nagdier Payam, Upper Nile State, SSWOCO launched its Crisis Modifier Emergency Response Project — reaching the most vulnerable households during one of the most difficult periods this community has faced.

Every child, every family, every household we reach is a reminder of WHY we do this work.

South Sudan's most vulnerable deserve urgent support — and SSWOCO is here to deliver it.

Some photos don't just capture a moment — they carry a whole story.
Look at these smiles. Pure. Unbothered. Full of life.
This is what WOCO has always fought for. Not statistics. Not reports. These faces.
When SSWOCO was founded in 2011 by a group of courageous women, South Sudan was barely a year old as a nation. The wounds of decades of war were still fresh. Families were torn apart. Women were left with nothing. Children were left without anyone.
But those founding women refused to let vulnerability be the final word.
They started small. They started local. They started with what they had — compassion, determination, and an unshakeable belief that every child deserves protection, and every woman deserves dignity.
Today, WOCO reaches communities in Juba, Fashoda County and Upper Nile State — offering family tracing and reunification, psychosocial support, GBV response, women's economic empowerment, and so much more.
The children in this photo reminded us then — and remind us still — that hope is not a luxury. It is a right.
We carry this photo in our hearts as we continue the work. For them. For the ones who came before. For the ones still waiting for someone to show up.

WOCO will keep showing up.
