BREAKING NEWS! Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed an Executive Order to rein in data center development and mitigate their impacts in our communities.

It gives counties & towns the tools they’ve been asking for:

- Bans NDAs
- Bans by-right development
- Allows community benefit agreements
- Codifies setbacks, buffers, and noise ordinances

It also sets new clean energy requirements and anti-pollution measures:

- Requires removal of high-emitting diesel generators and replacement with clean generators
- A new water permitting process and banning development in water scarcity areas
- Phases out natural gas plants at data centers
- Requires clean energy investments and battery storage plans

And most importantly it forces data centers to pay for their own electrical infrastructure!

A year ago, under Republican leadership, we had nothing. Now, Democrats are ushering in the change we all demand!

Twenty-five years ago today, our country changed forever. As we look back on the tragedy of September 11, we hold the families of the victims and the courage of our first responders close to our hearts.

But we also look back on September 12. We remember how it felt when all the noise and division dropped away, leaving only neighbor helping neighbor. That raw, genuine unity is what carried us through the darkest hours.

Let's bring that same spirit into our community today. Be kind, look out for one another, and remember that we are always stronger when we stand together. 🇺🇸
