Fundraising for the flood-affected communities in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region

According to the latest reports, the heavy rainfall that began on September 25, 2026, has caused flooding in Dawei and surrounding areas of Tanintharyi Region.

Furthermore, since September 27, strong winds and severe weather conditions have intensified, forcing many residents to evacuate and relocate to safer areas. It has also been reported that affected communities are in urgent need of food supplies and emergency assistance.

Based on the information currently available, emergency evacuations have been taking place in several wards of Dawei, including Shan Ma Leik Su, Kanyone, Ka Rap Pyin South, Ka Rap Pyin North, Bummaw, Khone Win Dat, and Kyet Sar Pyin. Many residents who are unable to evacuate remain in affected areas and are also in need of food and other essential assistance.

Therefore, the Myanmar Students’ Association – Mae Fah Luang University (MSA-MFU) will be collecting donations from students who wish to provide support to those affected by the floods. The donation campaign will be held from September 29, 2026, until 9:00 PM (Thailand Time) on October 3, 2026 (Saturday).

We hope to contribute whatever we can to ease the difficulties faced by those affected by the floods.
We warmly encourage all MFU students to participate and support this relief effort for our beloved brothers and sisters.
