At Bright, we recognize the significant benefits that hand adjustments can bring to students’ practice when the technique is correct and the adjustment respects students’ limitations.

We offer a gentle touch that helps to create a sense of safety and relaxation, allowing the body to open up. When students feel comfortable, it is easier for them to turn their attention inward, enhancing not only their physical practice but also their breath awareness and mental focus.

On the other hand, if the adjustment is forceful, and without acknowledging the limitations of the students, that type of adjustment is going to create tension, resistance, and a feeling of pulling away from the help

What type of adjustment do you want to provide?

It is interesting because sometimes you can be providing and adjusting forcefully, without knowing, only because this is the way you learned

In BRIGHT we advise you to:
1. Always ask for feedback
2. Update your anatomy knowledge as this can create a deeper understanding of how to adjust students in a safe way
3. Always keep a clear intention and understand why you adjust
4. Respect students’ feelings in the pose as they are experiencing the pose from the inside, we are only observing the outer form

In our 200hrs we guide you step by step on how to adjust your students safely

Have you ever felt fear when trying an inversion?

Fear is normal—especially when your body is moving into something unfamiliar. Often, the fear comes before we even try: “What if I fall?”

At Bright Training, we teach students to work with fear instead of fighting it.

Here are a few ways to start:

1. Breathe louder.
Bring your attention away from fearful thoughts and back to your breath.
2. Break the inversion into small goals.
Instead of thinking about getting all the way up, focus on one achievable step at a time.
3. Challenge yourself without overwhelming yourself.
Move gradually closer to the point where fear appears. Explore the edge without forcing yourself beyond it.
4. Build strength progressively.
If you’re new to inversions, gradually increase the amount of weight you load through your upper body so your shoulders, arms and neck can adapt.

The variation shown in the picture is one of the options we use with our students.

As you practice, focus on creating a strong foundation: press firmly into the ground, lift the shoulders away from the ears, and keep the upper body active. These actions help create the stability you need to explore inversions with greater control and confidence.

Fear doesn’t have to disappear before you progress.
Progress happens when you learn how to approach fear gradually, intelligently and with awareness.

Save this post so you can come back to these tips—and share it with someone who is working through fear in their inversions.

This is how we teach.
This is how we train.

Many people say that to practice yoga, you need the right teacher, the right style, a good mat, enough time, money, and energy. And yes, these things can help.

But there is something more important: the willingness to practice.

When you are willing, you find a way. You find the time, the place, the teacher, and the energy. When the willingness is not there, it’s easy to find reasons not to practice.

Yoga is a practice that can stay with you throughout your life. You can always come back to it—to move, breathe, feel your body, and grow from where you are.

At Bright Yoga, we want to help you build that willingness. We’ll help you understand why you practice, how to work with your body’s capacities and limitations, and how to move in a smart and sustainable way.

So, little by little, showing up on will bring the results that you are looking for
