Little rituals make an ordinary Sunday feel like your own private fairytale

I have always loved mixing latex with other fabrics that take the styling in unexpected directions. It has never sat well with me that latex is expected to work with only a handful of different looks when it’s a truly versatile material that can be utilized in a multitude of ways. The experimentation we’re seeing at the moment from a variety of new creators is heartening and I hope it will allow latex fashion to be seen in a whole new light.

I never thought this topic would divide opinion so much! Do you enjoy wearing latex outdoors?

10 years in the making.

This dress was one of the pieces in the final line-up for my graduate collection. I had designed it, drawn it, imagined it… and then somehow it took me another 10 years to actually make it.

When lockdown came around, I found myself spending my birthday at home, unable to see any of my friends. So, rather than let the circumstances ruin it, I decided to make myself a birthday present: the dress I’d been waiting a decade to create.

I made it, put it on, and turned my house into a photoshoot location. Somehow, a piece that had existed only as an idea for so long became one of my favourite things I’ve ever made.

It also features the original version of my signature latex-lace fabric — a technique that has since become such a defining part of my work.

Sometimes ideas just need a little time to catch up with you. 🖤

One day maybe I’ll forget what outfit I was shooting, but I’ll never forget the experience.

We spend much of our lives worrying about inconveniences. The crease in the outfit. The muddy shoes. The grass stains. The pet hair.

We protect things so carefully that we sometimes forget to actually enjoy them.

Clothes can be cleaned but the special moments life offers can’t always be recreated at a better time.

So, wear the outfit. Hug your dog. Sit in the grass. Take the photos.
