Bu etkinlikte, Ni Una Más / Bir Kişi Daha Eksilmeyeceğiz filminin yönetmeni Julia Hollander ile “Kadın Cinayetlerine Karşı Feministler”den aktivistler bir araya geliyor. Filmin ortaya çıkış ve yapım sürecinden hareketle, Meksika’da kadın cinayetlerine karşı yürütülen mücadeleyi ve Türkiye’de erkek şiddetine karşı sürdürülen feminist direnişi konuşacağız. Kadın cinayetlerinin neden politik bir mesele olarak ele alınması gerektiğini ve feminist mücadelenin sınırları aşan dayanışma imkânlarını birlikte tartışacağız.

In this event, Ni Una Más / Not One More director Julia Hollander will join activists from Kadın Cinayetlerine Karşı Feministler (Feminists Against Femicide). Drawing on the film’s origins and production process, we will discuss the struggle against femicide in Mexico and the ongoing feminist resistance to male violence in Türkiye. Together, we will explore why femicide must be understood not as a series of isolated incidents but as a political issue, and reflect on the possibilities for transnational feminist solidarity and collective resistance.

Sinemacı ve akademisyen ikili Co**ha Barquero ile Alejandro Alvarado’nun hazırladığı bu performatif sunum, izleyiciyi “Rocío”nun farklı versiyonları ve Vergara’nın sansürle mücadelesi içinde bir keşfe çıkarıyor.

Vergara’ya bir saygı duruşu olarak tasarlanan bu özel sunum, ne acıdır ki, yakın zamanda kaybettiğimiz Co**ha Barquero’nun anısına, eşi Alejandro Alvarado tarafından gerçekleştirilecek.

Conceived by filmmakers and scholars Co**ha Barquero and Alejandro Alvarado, this performative lecture guides the audience through the different versions of “Rocío” and Vergara’s struggle against censorship.

Originally created as a tribute to Vergara, this performance has sadly turned into a memorial event for Co**ha Barquero, presented by her partner Alejandro Alvarado.

Documentarist 19. İstanbul Belgesel Günleri’nin bu yılki Onur Konuğu, “Ustaya Saygı” bölümünde beş filmini ağırlayacağımız Portekizli tanınmış belgeselci ve sanatçı Susana de Sousa Dias! 🎬

Çoğunlukla arşiv malzemesiyle çalışan yönetmen, devletin ürettiği imajlarda faşizmin hayaletinin izini süren filmleriyle tanınıyor. Bölüm kapsamında, 48 yıl süren Salazar diktatörlüğünün terör ve işkencelerini siyasi mahpusların sabit portreleri ve tanıklıkları üzerinden anlattığı başyapıtı “48” (2009) ile birlikte “Natureza Morta” (Still Life, 2005), “Luz Obscura” (Obscure Light, 2017), “Fordlândia Malaise” (2019) ve “Fordlândia Panacea” (2025) adlı filmleri gösterilecek.

Susana de Sousa Dias, filmlerinin gösterimlerine katılmak ve merakla beklenen bir sinema dersi (masterclass) vermek üzere festival konuğumuz olarak İstanbul’da olacak! ✨

We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Guest of Honor at the 19th Documentarist Istanbul Documentary Days is the renowned Portuguese documentarian and artist Susana de Sousa Dias, whose five films will be showcased in our “Tribute to” section! 🎬🇵🇹

Working predominantly with archival material, the director is widely acclaimed for her films that trace the ghost of fascism within state-produced imagery. The retrospective will feature her masterpiece “48” (2009)—which conveys the terror and torture of the 48-year Salazar dictatorship through stationary portraits and testimonies of political prisoners—alongside her prominent works “Natureza Morta” (Still Life, 2005), “Luz Obscura” (Obscure Light, 2017), “Fordlândia Malaise” (2019), and “Fordlândia Panacea” (2025).

De Sousa Dias will be in Istanbul as our festival guest to attend her screenings and deliver a highly anticipated masterclass! ✨
