At Marurani Primary School, construction of a new kitchen is progressing, with the walls now taking shape.

The kitchen will provide the school with a dedicated space for preparing and serving meals, supporting the school feeding programme and helping create a more suitable environment for pupils.

This has been made possible by the support of One Kind Act and Bhardwaj Family, and our partner on the ground, Ndoto In Action .

A progress update from Manyire Primary School, in rural Arusha.

The kitchen is currently undergoing painting and tiling, bringing the space closer to completion and preparing it for use by the school, thanks to the support of Faroe Islands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture and our implementing partner Ndoto In Action .

Before new classrooms can rise, there is work to do on the ground.

At Mzimuni Primary School in rural Arusha, community members have been helping clear the site after the old classrooms were demolished, moving away remaining debris and materials to prepare the area for construction.

This process shows that when a school improvement project begins, the community has a role in making it happen.

The plans for Mzimuni include 8 new classrooms and 2 teachers’ offices, creating space for children and teachers to learn and work in better conditions, with the support of Guernsey Overseas Aid.

We’re pleased to support this work alongside our partner on the ground Ndoto In Action and the Mzimuni school community.

The foundation work at Marurani Primary School has officially begun!

Following our inception meeting, the project has now moved into the first phase of construction, digging the foundation for the new school kitchen.

What makes this moment special is seeing the community actively involved. Together with school leaders and community members, the work is taking shape. One step, one foundation, and one shared effort at a time.

This kitchen will provide a better and more suitable space for preparing meals for students, strengthening the school’s feeding facilities and supporting a healthier learning environment.

The next project at Marurani Primary School has officially begun.

Not with construction, but with a conversation.

On 10th of August, 2026, school leaders and community members gathered for an inception meeting with our implementing partner Ndoto in Action, ahead of the construction of a new school kitchen, discussing the project scope, responsibilities and how everyone will work together throughout the process.

This project will create a better space for preparing meals for students and strengthen the school's feeding facilities.

Now, the work begins.

With every stage completed, we're moving closer to a kitchen that will strengthen the school's feeding programme and create a better learning environment for students in rural Arusha.
