SandRocks Lodge is an English and African family run, warm, friendly and relaxing lodge only 5mins quiet, countryside walk away from the 4km sandy beach, Amani Gomvu, of the Indian Ocean. 28km from Dar es Salaam. Comfortable and affordable range of beautiful en suite stone built rooms or budget stylish African wooden bandas, with shared facilities. SandRocks Lodge's accommodation, restaurant and licensed bar, is hidden away in beautiful, quiet, safe, countryside area of the village of Kichangani in Kigamboni. A choice first floor bandas with balconies and views and ground floor bandas and en suite rooms for our restricted mobility guests and young families. Also we have Camping for all types. We welcome international vacation rental holidays, weekend city getaways, backpackers, travellers and volunteers. Single discounts, couples, families and groups. Week and monthly discounts. A beautiful place for your wedding, birthday celebration or business meetings. Exciting and critically acclaimed fusion of African, Asian and European food is served in our unique boat house restaurant and bar with sunset and ocean views: breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners. You can relax and enjoy alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks or tea or coffee. Children can enjoy a playground with paddling pool, swings, slide and playhouse while overlooked by parents relaxing in the boat restaurant and bar. A beautiful pristine white sandy beach is a few minutes walk away. Guided walks available to view the local area and village or tours to Dar es Salaam. We can arrange Snorkeling and boat trips to Islands, Scuba Diving, and help with Safari contacts for Mikumi and Selous National Park, tours of Dar es Salaam and airport pick up and drop off. Horse riding on this beach and countryside, and lessons can be arranged with a professional experienced European run horse club nearby. We also warmly welcome volunteers who would like to help out at local schools. We will look after you while you look after the children of our local villages. An excellent venue for music, exhibitions, business meetings, weddings and parties.

Our Story
SandRocks Lodge is an English and African family run, warm, friendly and relaxing lodge only 8mins quiet, countryside walk away from the stunning, isolated, 4km sandy beach - Amani Gomvu. 28km (35mins) from Kigamboni Ferry, Dar es Salaam. About 1 hour from International Airport. Comfortable and affordable range of beautiful en suite stone built rooms or budget stylish African Bandas, with shared facilities. All with four poster beds. Camping and Overland Camping are welcome. SandRocks Lodge's accommodation, restaurant and licensed bar, are hidden away in beautiful, quiet, safe, countryside area of the village of Kichangani in Kigamboni. Ocean and countryside views.
We are an Eco friendly lodge and so do not have AC or a swimming pool (a large kids play pool and beautiful beach available!). We use solar with generator back up if necessary and so electricity can be limited especially using fans. Extra power is available at a small extra cost.
