I am grateful to the Prime Minister for the directive on a General National Cleaning every last Saturday of the month, starting 25/07/2026. Thank you to everyone who turned up. A clean environment is everyone’s responsibility. However, we saw waste being burned during cleanup, and garbage still left on roadsides in some areas. This is dangerous for our air and health. For this great initiative to succeed, I kindly request Government to invest in proper waste management more specifically by constructing engineered landfills in every region instead of dumpsites, and providing collection services after cleanup days.
