STRENGTHENING SMEs THROUGH QUALITY

At the CNOOC Supplier Development Workshop, the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) Programme was unveiled, with TASC set to implement the programme over the next three years.

The initiative will support 80 SMEs annually in Uganda’s Oil & Gas sector to strengthen their systems and processes, achieve ISO 9001 compliance, and establish active, auditable systems.

We look forward to supporting SMEs in building stronger, more compliant and competitive businesses within the Oil & Gas supply chain.

Investing in the People Who Shape Uganda’s Future. 🇺🇬

We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of the ZPEB–Tilenga Train the Trainer Programme, delivered by The Assessment and Skilling Centre (TASC) for lecturers from Nkumba University, KING CEASOR UNIVERSITY and Nakawa vocational Training college.

Eight lecturers were equipped with industry-relevant knowledge and practical insights in three critical areas:

🔹 Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
🔹 Rigging & Lifting Operations
🔹 Well Integrity & Well Control

But the impact goes far beyond eight participants.

This is the multiplier effect of Train the Trainer.

By strengthening the capacity of educators, we create pathways for industry knowledge, safety practices and technical expertise to reach hundreds of learners—moving from the training room into classrooms, practical sessions and, ultimately, the workplaces of tomorrow.

We commend ZPEB for sponsoring this important capacity-building initiative and demonstrating a meaningful commitment to National Content development. Investing in local educators is an investment in stronger institutions, better-prepared graduates and a safer, more competent and industry-ready workforce.

At TASC, we believe skills development creates the greatest impact when knowledge is shared, capability is built and impact is multiplied.

Congratulations to all eight lecturers on this important achievement.

We successfully implemented the Vocational Skills Training and Business Development Support Program for 100 beneficiaries from RAPS 1, 2, 3 and the Feeder Line under the CNOOC International Uganda Limited Livelihood Restoration Program.

The program aimed to restore and enhance the livelihoods of Project Affected Persons (PAPs) through practical vocational training, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship development. The training was delivered through accredited institutions—St. Simon Peter Vocational Institute (Hoima) and St. Joseph Vocational Institute (Kikuube)—and through work-based learning structures with master craft practitioners.

All trainees completed their training, underwent UVTAB/DIT assessments, and participated in a one-month internship. Start-up toolkits were distributed to all graduates to support self-employment and business start-up.
