The initial campaign was conceptualized by the collaboration of two youth networks from two countries namely Youth peer education network in Kenya (Y-PEER KENYA) and Uganda network of young people living with AIDS (UNYPA).The YOUTH PATCH campaign is not to be owned by these two networks but all the youth networks and groups who do join in the campaign can take ownership and represent the mandate of the campaign in their respective countries.
