Some of the most meaningful things we can do for one another do not require the perfect wordsโjust our presence.
That's why weโre walking in the AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk.
Every step is for someone we've lost, someone who is struggling, and everyone who believes that no one should have to face life's darkest moments alone. It's a reminder that connection saves lives, that hope is real, and that every conversation has the power to make a difference.
If you've been thinking about joining, let this be your sign. Come walk beside us. Bring your family, your friends, your coworkersโbecause the more people who show up, the louder we say: you are not alone.
Whether you're walking in memory of someone you love, supporting someone who's struggling, or simply wanting to be part of a community that chooses hope, your presence matters.
Together, we can honor those we've lost, support those who are still here, and remind our community that there is always hopeโand that no one has to walk through the darkness alone. ๐ค

Thank you, NVC!! ๐
Through our ๐-๐๐ก๐ข๐ซ๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ program, NVC employees donate $5 each Friday to wear jeans and a T-shirt to work. Those donations support local organizations making a difference in our communities.
We recently donated $700 to ๐.๐.๐.๐. (Hope Understanding Grief Support), a local, peer-led support group in Aberdeen that provides a safe, welcoming place for individuals who have lost a loved one to su***de. Led by volunteers who have experienced this type of loss themselves, H.U.G.S. offers understanding, encouragement, and connection through shared experiences. Meetings are free, confidential, and open to adults, helping survivors navigate the grieving process while reminding them they are not alone.
Thank you to our employees for making this donation possible and to H.U.G.S. for the hope and support they provide. ๐
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress, help is available. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐๐ฑ๐ญ ๐๐๐ to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline anytime.

Coach Martens was known for many things, his passion for running, his dedication to students and athletes, and his commitment to helping others succeed.
But at the center of it all was his faith.
These were words Bill carried with him and tried to live out every day: humility, trust, sacrifice, and service to others.
As we prepare for The Mental Mile on Saturday, we're remembering not only what Bill accomplished, but the values he worked to embody.
