We ended Saturday night with our second attraction visit, Containment Haunted House. Following our walkthrough, they were gracious enough to let us take a few photos from INSIDE the attraction.

Thanks to the entire Containment crew for a great show and a memorable finish to the first night of our 2026 haunt season tour. We look forward to seeing this show continue to grow and evolve!

Last Saturday night, we started our local haunt tour with Nightmare's Gate Haunted House. Outside, we came face-to-face with quite the welcoming committee.

Thanks to the entire Nightmare’s Gate crew for a great show and a memorable first stop on our 2026 haunt season tour.

During our recent trip to Salem, MA, we had the opportunity to explore Witch Mansion Haunted House and the The International Monster Museum, two attractions filled with creatures that were practically begging to get in front of our camera.

The dramatic lighting, vivid colors, and incredible details gave us plenty to work with. Here are a few of our favorite shots from inside.

Our focus may be the haunt industry, but haunt customers don’t exist in a vacuum.

They’re the same people every other industry is trying to reach, with the same behaviors, expectations, and buying habits. Understanding the haunt industry is only part of the job. Creative agencies like ours also have to stay current on how marketing is changing, how customers make decisions, and which technologies can turn their interest into ticket sales.

That’s why we’re at HubSpot UNBOUND 2026 in Boston this week.

In this new age of AI, we’re learning how truly transformational companies are using emerging technologies to drive sales and expand revenue intelligently; not simply adopting AI because it’s the latest buzzword.

We can’t wait to bring what we’re learning back to our clients and apply it to their campaigns moving forward.

Built to Terrify. Designed to Convert.

Spooky Pixel Designs is, at its core, about supporting the haunt industry and the people who make it what it is.

When I first started thinking about SPD, one of the things I wanted to do was use whatever platform we built to recognize people who deserve a little extra spotlight for what they give back to this community. And I genuinely can't think of a better place to start than Haunters Against Hate and its founder, Paul (who provided this lovely jack o lantern drawn by Steve Rampton).

I doubt Paul remembers, but I first met him at MHC back in 2019 and talked with him about submitting some of my photography for the HAH books. While I never ended up submitting anything myself, a couple of the actors I'd photographed did, and seeing them featured was pretty damn cool.

Since then, I've kept tabs on HAH and watched the impact Paul and this organization have had over the years. I've seen the people they've supported, the hope they've given, and the community they've built. That's why I knew that once SPD officially became a reality, we would become a proud member of Haunters Against Hate and support Paul in his efforts.

The haunt industry has always been filled with people who, for one reason or another, have felt like outsiders. It's part of what makes this community so special. But sadly, that doesn't mean division, bigotry, and hate don't exist within our own walls.

That's why organizations like Haunters Against Hate matter.

I don't envy the uphill battle Paul continues to fight. But I absolutely admire his tenacity, his passion, and his dedication to making sure people who may feel surrounded by hate and darkness know there are people standing beside them.

Paul, we're proud to support you and Haunters Against Hate in your mission, and we encourage others in our community to do the same.

And if you're ANYWHERE near Niles, Michigan, there's a pretty great opportunity coming up. On September 18 & 19, Haunters Against Hate returns to Niles Scream Park for its FOURTH HAH Takeover Weekend.

Go get scared. Support a great cause. Support a great organization. And most importantly, support the people who work every day to make our haunt community a place where everyone belongs.

We've gotten a chance to see what they're building up there (the town square in that photo is SO COOL), and it's awesome. We'll be there ourselves, and hope to see you there!

As we head into haunt season, we’re taking one final look back at Midwest Haunters Convention last June.

We couldn’t think of a better way to close out the series than with these two from 13th Floor Haunted House Chicago...although only one of them appears particularly happy about it.

Here’s to an incredible 2026 haunt season. We’ll see you in the dark!

Haunt season is almost here, and we’re hitting the road!

We’ll be working on location with two clients this season: The Nightmare Factory in Wabash, IN, and Nightmare on Chicago Street in Elgin, IL. We’ll be there to document all the scares and fun, and maybe even get a little involved ourselves!

Beyond that, we’ll be visiting a number of local haunted attractions as guests, and we hope to see you there. Support your local haunts this October!

• September 25: Containment Haunted House & Nightmare's Gate Haunted House
• October 2–3: The Nightmare Factory
• October 9: Dread Hollow and Paranoia Haunted House
• October 10: The Farm of Fears and Folklore Haunted House
• October 15: Hellsgate Haunted House and Disturbia Haunted House
• October 16–17: Nightmare on Chicago Street
• October 23: Nashville Nightmare and Rigor Mortis Haunted House

We’ll keep you updated with our adventures, and if you see us, come say hi and get a picture! We love this industry and all the folks who make it what it is.
