Thank you to everyone who joined the Addison Township Mental Health Board’s annual Back to School Breakfast this morning! 💙

School professionals from across our community came together to explore strategies for supporting students experiencing anxiety-driven school avoidance. The thoughtful questions and conversations showed the value of connecting schools, mental health providers, and community partners around the needs of students and families.

Thank you to Anoop Vermani, MD, and Brock Maxwell, LCPC, of InStride Health for sharing practical strategies; to Ascension Illinois for sponsoring the continuing education credit; and to Angela Molloy of InStride Health for coordinating the event with us.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and strengthening these connections throughout the school year.

A huge thank-you to the Addison Trail High School students from Student Council, Key Club, HOLA Club, and the National Honor Society who organized a neighborhood food drive benefiting the Addison Township Community Market! 🥫💛

The students went door-to-door collecting an incredible assortment of food for local families. We are grateful for their hard work, generosity, and commitment to serving their community.

Thank you as well to every resident who contributed. Each can, box, and bag helps us provide nutritious food to neighbors throughout Addison Township.

Our Human Services Manager, Kelly Corona, enjoyed connecting with local seniors and sharing information about the programs and resources available through Addison Township.

Did you know Addison Township has certified Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) counselors available to assist with Medicare questions? Our counselors provide free, unbiased Medicare counseling to help individuals understand their coverage options, benefits, and enrollment.

As we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month, we are highlighting our recent senior event—a lively afternoon of Lotería!🎉

More than 50 seniors joined us for this traditional Mexican game, similar to bingo, along with delicious Mexican food.

The afternoon also featured a wonderful performance by the Ballet Folklórico group from Addison Trail High School. The talented students performed traditional dances in colorful costumes representing different regions of Mexico, bringing each region's music and traditions to life.

Thank you to our seniors for joining us and to the Addison Trail performers for making the afternoon so memorable!

This morning, Addison Township was honored to gather with community members and local fire and police departments for our September 11 Remembrance Ceremony.

As we mark 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001, we remember the 2,977 lives lost that day, as well as the thousands of first responders, survivors, and others who have since died from 9/11-related illnesses. We honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of all who answered the call and served in the aftermath.

Thank you to the Addison Fire Protection District, Village of Addison, Addison Police Department, DuPage County Sheriff's Office, Wood Dale Fire District, Bensenville Fire Protection District No. 2, our military representatives, and everyone who joined us in remembrance.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
