PROPHETIC WORD JUNE 2026
These Teen Takeovers are our fault, parents, grandparents, aunties -uncs all of us -
One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people are trying to heal their childhood through their children.
So now we have these extremes happening at the same time.
One side says:
“I never had anything, so my child will have everything.”
The other side says:
“The world is dangerous, so I can’t let my child struggle, fail, work through things, or even figure things out alone.”
And somewhere in the middle… resilience got lost.
Now you’ve got kids living luxury lifestyles before they’ve even developed discipline, gratitude, responsibility, or emotional regulation. Prom sendoffs looking like weddings. Five-year-olds demanding crab boils and steak every week. Kids with access to everything but no structure, no boundaries, no real accountability.
But then on the other side, some kids are so protected that they never build confidence. Never solve problems. Never develop toughness. Never hear “no.” Never experience consequences. So when life hits them, they crumble emotionally.
A healthy child probably needs both:
* love AND correction
* support AND responsibility
* celebration AND boundaries
* safety AND independence
A lot of us became strong because somebody corrected us, challenged us, made us work, made us respect people, made us wait, made us earn things.
And now society is confused because we’re watching entitlement rise while emotional fragility rises at the same time.
That combination is dangerous.
Kids don’t just need access.
They need guidance.
They need responsibility.
They need to learn how to lose, wait, work, recover, apologize, and regulate themselves.
Because if a child grows up believing the world revolves around them, adulthood is going to humble them very quickly.

A few weeks ago I prayed something dangerous.
“Lord, do not allow me to be led astray by my own will. Don’t let my will be the steering wheel.”
Because if I’m honest, my will can be selfish.
My will can be emotional.
My will can be rooted in my soul, my wounds, my desires, my fears, my flesh.
But His will is greater than anything I could ever create for myself.
So Lord,
I wanna pray for all of us right now:
Interrupt us when we are moving outside of Your timing.
Correct us when our desires are louder than Your voice.
Strip away every appetite that would pull us away from purpose.
Even if it hurts our flesh…
save us from ourselves.
“Not my will, but Thine, be done.” — Luke 22:42
