By 2019, Liberty Capital Bank passed $400 million in assets, a milestone that reflected nearly a decade of growth built one relationship at a time.

And then came the next chapter.

In 2024, Liberty Capital Bank announced its merger with Texas Heritage Bank bringing together two community banks with deep Texas roots, shared values, and a combined legacy stretching back to 1931. The merger created a stronger, more expansive institution, with four locations across Texas and a team united by a single purpose: to honor God, serve people, and build businesses.

While Texas Heritage Bank was growing its roots in South Texas, something new was taking shape in Dallas.

In 2007, Holt Lunsford and Ben Cunningham set out to build a different kind of bank — one built on relationships, local expertise, and an unwavering commitment to the businesses and communities of North Texas. In 2008, Liberty Capital Bank was officially chartered.

The mission was clear from day one: honor God, serve people, and build businesses.
Eighteen years later, we're still living it out — and the story is still being written.

In 2001, Citizens State Bank expanded into Boerne and changed its name to Texas Heritage Bank — a name that reflected both where it came from and where it was headed.

By 2005, the bank opened a Leon Springs branch, planting roots across South Texas and continuing to grow the community banking relationships that had defined it since 1931.
