Chief Magistrate Steve Elliott had the honor of officiating the Promises in the Park wedding ceremony that took place on Friday at beautiful Himelright Lodge in Cascade Park.

This event is a highlight of the Court's every year.
Not only do we have newlyweds, but many couples attend to renew their vows. It is always so special and the prettiest background for a wedding- whether we are inside the lodge or outside in the garden!

❗ALERT: A sophisticated immigration fraud scheme targeting vulnerable individuals is making its way around the country. Fraudsters are using real attorney names and bar numbers to create the appearance of legitimacy. Here’s how consumers can stay safe:

Be suspicious of unsolicited contact from an attorney! If you are contacted by an attorney: VERIFY their information and reach out to them separately. Do NOT respond to the communication directly and DO NOT send any money. You can search law firm websites, the Ohio Bar Find a Lawyer Directory or the Ohio Supreme Court’s attorney directory to verify if someone is a lawyer and find legitimate contact info.

If you believe that the communication you received is fraudulent, report it to local law enforcement, the Bureau of Consumer Protection or the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. See the comments for useful links.

Summit County Probate Court and Summit Metro Parks are partnering to offer a free outdoor group wedding ceremony and vow renewal for Summit County residents.

Promises in the Park will take place on August 7 at 11 a.m. outside Himelright Lodge (1212 Cuyahoga St., Akron), featuring beautiful park views.
