Our vision is to offer Christ from the heart of downtown for an awakening in Southwest Georgia. How do we accomplish that? Through our mission of cultivating and equipping disciples of Jesus Christ.

In our sermon series, "How We Make Disciples," we’ll explore how we fulfill that mission through four movements: Befriend. Connect. Cultivate. Send. These movements shape our shared life as a church and show each of us how to take part in making disciples.

Let’s get on the field, and make disciples who make disciples for an awakening in Southwest Georgia. Join us Sundays in October!

Over the last seven months of visiting our local jail, it has become clear to us that the staff is a huge part of this ministry. Their work is hard, demanding, and often takes a toll on their physical, mental, and emotional health. As a church, we want to recognize and appreciate these men and women in a meaningful way.

A special thank you to our kids and students for helping us put together appreciation gifts for the staff and administrators! We’re grateful for their servant hearts and for the opportunity to show some love and encouragement to those who serve the inmates of the Dougherty County jail every day.

Today is the last day to register for our Men's Fellowship Supper this Thursday, October 1st - RSVP by calling the office or on our website!

We want to welcome Jeannie Geisel to the First Methodist Team! She's a longtime member of First Methodist, but she's only been with us for a couple of weeks in her new role as our Church Administrator.

Here's a little about Jeannie in her own words: "The U.S. Navy transplanted me to Albany, Georgia, in 1987, and I stayed! I served in various facilities, construction, and engineering positions. In 2024, I retired after completing 21 years with the U.S. Government. My plan was to volunteer with several organizations and exercise at the YMCA, but the LORD obviously has other plans for me."

We are so excited to have her here! If you see her around campus, be sure to give her a warm welcome!

We can't wait to worship with you tomorrow!
