Iron Water Ranch

Washington State Fair 2026 was a great one! IWR had the greatest time with old friends and new ones! We made the trek north with Elaine (Blackberry Patch Farms/Thompson Romneys) and Audrey + Cody (Wee Woollies Fiber Arts) so please enjoy their White and Natural colored Romneys included in our pics.

It was an incredible show, well-run as always! Our group came away with six(!) of the winning Young Flocks so the supreme drive was quite the kerfuffle! Massive appreciation to everyone who helped us get them shown! Thank you Anne, Dresen, Angie Kirchan, Patty, and anyone else who grabbed a sheep!

Please enjoy the surprising number of photos we remembered to take!

WOW! I am truly overwhelmed and grateful. A huge THANK YOU to all of our bidders and buyers at yesterday’s BFL sale! Your incredible support and generous bids mean so much to me and are such a wonderful recognition of the years of hard work, dedication, and love that have gone into this program and these sheep.

I’m so proud of these beautiful babies and couldn’t be more excited to see them begin their next chapters in Vermont and New York!

Thank you for believing in my program, my sheep, and the work we’re doing. I’m incredibly grateful! ❤️

Remember these 2 sell tomorrow!! Check them out at the link below! Lots 5 and 9!

Iron Water R602 "Sazerac"
March BFL ram lamb
Sired by Iron Water R404 AI "Raphael"
Dammed by Iron Water R104 "Sangria"

https://www.breedersworld.com/auctions/10310/lot/18789-iron-water-ranch

Sazerac has been a looker since birth! His dam is an incredibly prolific ewe that has twinned or had triplets every breeding. His sire is perhaps the best, and my most favorite, BFL I have ever produced. “Raphael” stamped each of his lambs with incredible breed type, dense & stylish fleeces, and lovely temperaments. Sazerac is an F2 Towdypotts and goes back to Myfarian Trueblue and Carry House. Sazerac is on my short list to stay here, but I wanted to offer up a true stud. This ram brings frame and style and plenty of fleece power! If you are wanting to strengthen your toplines and elevate that hip, seriously consider Sazerac!

I am so excited to consign to the National sale for the first time! Iron Water Ranch has been breeding BFL since 2012 and has employed the use of LAI to improve structure and breed type of the animals we produce. We show and sell sheep and fleeces all up and down the west coast with occasional trips out east. They spend the fall and winter months grazing grass seed fields so they know how to put in the work. The BFLs bring me immense joy, and I am incredibly proud to be able to produce them at the caliber that we do. Our BFL fleeces and sheep have won numerous awards at shows such as Supreme Champion ewe at Estes Park, Champion Ewe at Black sheep Gathering 7 times total (4 years in a row, currently), Champion Ram at Black Sheep Gathering 4 times total, Supreme Best Fleeced Ewe at Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival, and Supreme Champion Young Flock at Oregon Flock and Fiber against 14 other breeds. Thank you for checking out our consignment, and please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Iron Water R605 "Ravina"
March BFL ewe lamb
Sired by Iron Water R404 AI "Raphael"
Dammed by Iron Water R133 "Sylvia"

Ravina is ALL that!! If you are looking for a wicked cool show ewe that will then perform in the lambing barn, you NEED this sheep! I barely want to sell her. She is almost impossible to pick a hole in and is so feminine and pretty. I love functional, pretty sheep and this girl absolutely fits that! She is F2 Towdypotts and also goes back to Barlaes Titus and Carry House. Her sire is perhaps the best, and my most favorite, BFL I have ever produced. “Raphael” stamped each of his lambs with incredible breed type, dense & stylish fleeces, and lovely temperaments. Her dam shears consistent, heavy fleeces that are stylish and easy to sell. This ewe is just an absolute powerhouse when it comes to functionality and fleece!

This is a super fun show! Be sure to sign up!

Like mother, like daughter!! Anyone who ever talks about BFLs with Zane knows how much she LOVES the "Bix" line!

The white ewe lamb is Iron Water Bixaroo (2026 reserve Champion BFL ewe at Black Sheep Gathering as a 3 month old) and the colored ewe is her mother, Iron Water BixBite, pictured as a yearling. BixBite herself was Champion at BSG in 2022 & 2023!

We are so proud to produce ewes of this caliber and consistency! If you are wanting to take your flock to the next level, we still have a few BFLs that would love to live with you! 😉

Thank you for your belief in our program!! Memphis has a great home with Wee Woollies Fiber Arts!!

We want to know! Do you think Whippersnapper (the Merino ram for clarification) is built like:
A) a truck
B) a tank
C) a brick
D) All of the above!
