**Testimony! Hear all about it!** 🙌
This is a testimony of Austin, an awesome LKID who loves to recite scripture, praises God, and is always ready to answer Bible Trivia.
We had decided to go out for my husband’s birthday. We typically stay in town, but we decided to go to a restaurant in Santa Fe without the kids.
We made the drive to the restaurant, got checked in, and immediately we got a call letting us know Austin had been hurt.
He was jumping on an indoor trampoline and slam dunking a basketball in a large basketball hoop. He had pulled on the hoop and pulled it down onto his face. The hoop itself was at least 100 lbs and had 90 lbs of weight on it to keep it from tipping over. All 190 lbs was pulled down onto Austin’s face, with the edge of the rim landing on the smallest part of the bridge of his nose and part of his brow bone. This caused a laceration on his eyelid, a broken nose, and a fractured eye socket. Our brother-in-law asked if we wanted him to take Austin to the hospital.
We immediately rushed home from Santa Fe to assess the situation. Meanwhile, though, our best friend, who works in surgery for a profession, was only a few minutes away from the sitter’s house. We called her and she raced to our son. She was able to butterfly bandage the laceration, stop the nosebleed, and assess the fractures. She informed us he was very swollen, and with the weight and direct blunt, pinpointed force of the hoop and where it landed, she didn’t know how it didn’t go straight through his face which would have decapitated him instantly.
However, Austin’s laceration healed within two weeks. No stitches.
His nose and brow bone healed in 6 weeks.
Tenderness of course after all this, but God had His hand on our boy!
After our immediate call to our best friend to help, Pastor Steve had reached out randomly to wish my husband a happy birthday. We informed him of what we were going through, and he immediately sent the prayer request through the prayer chain. Pastor continued to check on Austin daily for the duration of his healing.
This event taught us that God protects.
God is there in scary situations.
God is faithful.
And prayer works! 🙏

🚔 Officer Castillo stopped by LKIDS to show us his gear and teach us about God’s! His belt and vest protect him in the field, just like the Belt of Truth and Breastplate of Righteousness protect us every day. 🛡️Suit up, kids! God’s armor goes with you everywhere. 📖 Ephesians 6:14

Week 2 of BATTLEFIELD is here! ⚔️ This week we’re buckling on the Belt of Truth and the Breastplate of Righteousness. Just like a belt holds armor together, God’s truth holds our lives together, and the breastplate guards our hearts so we can choose what’s right no matter what. 🛡️ Kids learned from Paul that standing on truth means standing strong. ‘Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.’ (Ephesians 6:14) Suit up, LKIDS! God’s armor makes us… BATTLE READY!
As someone who suits up to protect and serve, Officer Carrillo knows what it means to be prepared before stepping into a challenge. Just like an officer puts on their gear before duty, God calls His kids to put on the full Armor of God, truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and His Word, so we can stand strong no matter what we face. 🙌
Whether we’re at school, at home, or serving the people around us, we don’t go into our battles alone or unprepared. God equips us to live boldly, make wise choices, and protect and love those in our community. 💪
📖 “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God.” Ephesians 6:10-11
🛡️ God’s armor makes me… BATTLE READY!
Hidden in their hearts. These kids didn’t just memorize words they’re storing up God’s truth for a lifetime. So proud of them! ”

Just like Paul, we don’t have to face our battles alone or unprepared. God gives His kids everything they need to stand firm. When we put on the full Armor of God every day, we can face anything that comes our way. 💪

Check out all that we have going on this month at LKIDS!
As they SUIT UP, kids will discover that God doesn’t send His children into challenges unprepared. Instead, He equips them with truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and His Word so they can live confidently and courageously for Him. Each week, kids will “activate” a new piece of armor and learn how it helps them follow Jesus, make wise choices, and stand firm no matter what comes their way.
🛡️ Here’s what we’re suiting up with each week:
Week 1 – Battle Ready (Paul stands strong on trial, Acts 26): God gives me everything I need to stand strong.
Week 2 – Guarded by Truth (Paul keeps preaching, Acts 14): God’s truth helps me live the right way.
Week 3 – Standing Strong (Paul frees the young lady, Acts 16): God’s peace and faith help me move forward without fear.
Week 4 – Victory (Paul’s final words to Timothy, 2 Timothy 4): Jesus gives me victory through His Word.
🛡️ God’s armor makes me… Battle Ready!
📖 Series Verse: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:10-11 (NIV)
