In honor of Women Veterans Recognition Day, we are proud to recognize one of our own.
Lt. Col. Mary Van Scyoc, a longtime volunteer, supporter, and advocate for Paws and Stripes, was recently nominated for recognition through the 250 Flags New Mexico initiative. Her nomination was featured in the Albuquerque Journal alongside other outstanding New Mexicans who have dedicated their lives to service.
Mary served our nation for nearly three decades in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy Reserve, including deployments to Bosnia and Kuwait. Following her military career, she continued her commitment to serving others through her volunteer work with Paws and Stripes and numerous efforts supporting Veterans throughout our community.
We were honored to nominate Mary and are grateful for her years of leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those who have served.
Please join us in thanking Mary for her service and congratulating her on this special recognition!
