Three Muses Performance Collective (3MPC), Albuquerque’s newest performing arts company, is bringing a retrospective of their curated storytelling series featuring women on various themes at FUSION on Thursday, October 15, at 7 PM for one performance ONLY. This is an official event of the Rising High Arts Festival.

Featured storytellers include Pam Breithaup and A Yourd on the theme “Small Moments”; Father Anne and Andi Penner on the theme “Fight or Flight”; and a new story from Muse and story curator, Jane deLaubenfels.

Pam Breithaupt (She/Her). “My Father’s Chair” Pam has acted with several theaters in New Mexico and Texas. In 2023, she played alongside actor and playwright Wallace Shawn in “Measure for Measure” in Marfa, TX. In ABQ, she sings in the Oasis Show Tunes Choir and has acted with the Rio Rancho Players. Pam has been a storyteller with Three Muses Storytelling since the beginning.

Jane deLaubenfels (She/Her). “Baked Potato” Jane is a co-founding member of Three Muses Performance Collective. She is a storyteller, actor and audiobook narrator. Jane recently moved here from Chicago, where she performed with numerous theaters and storytelling companies, including The Artistic Home, Redtwist, and 2nd Story. In Albuquerque she appeared in What the Constitution Means to Me at The Vortex Theatre.

Father Anne (she/her). “Pente-Cost” Father Anne was ordained a Roman Catholic priest on October 16, 2021, through a reform movement called the Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests. Because the Catholic Church prevents the full participation of women in Church life, Father Anne was forced to choose between obedience to God and obedience to Church law. Choosing God, she was excommunicated, ending her career in the Church she loves. She now devotes her life to ordination justice in one of the most powerful institutions in the world. Father Anne has a Master of Divinity from Jesuit School of Theology and a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Writing Studies from San Diego State University. Her deepest desire is to serve as a parish priest in the Roman Catholic Church. She works for

Sanctuary Cinema is bringing the Sovereign Lens Film Festival to FUSION as part of the Rising High Arts Festival on Thursday, October 15, from 12 PM–7:30 PM!

The Sovereign Lens Film Festival is a one-day community-centered short film festival uplifting stories that reclaim, reframe, and celebrate historically excluded and self-determined storytellers. The festival is an evolution of Sanctuary Cinema’s work as a monthly, community-centered nonfiction film and conversation project. Founded in 2025, Sanctuary Cinema has hosted free public screenings across Albuquerque—with facilitated panels, local nonprofits, shared meals, and audience participation—grounded in the principle that storytelling is a shared ethical and communal practice. The Sovereign Lens Film Festival extends that mission into a dedicated festival platform, creating a space where filmmakers and communities can meet across difference, witness lived truth, and move toward action.

Get ready to laugh your way through a hilarious evening at Rising High Comedy Night, featuring some of the best local comics on Friday, October 16, at 8 PM! PLUS an afterparty with a DJ in FUSION’s Velvet Echo Lounge!

Hosted by comic and show producer Nax Davis, the evening brings together Victor Tenorio, Count Supreme, Sarina Ochoa, Hannah Joy, and headliner Tripp Stelnicki for a night of stand-up ranging from esteemed local talent to comics who have shared the stage with some of comedy’s biggest names. Victor was named a 2026 NM Entertainment Magazine Top Comic Host, Count has competed in and placed in the Route 66 Comedy Competition, and Sarina regularly hosts shows around town at Imperial and Painted Lady. Hannah has opened for comedians including Beth Stelling and Katherine Blanford, while Tripp has shared the stage with Marc Maron and Shang Wang.

The good time won’t end with the stand-up comedy; your $20 ticket also gets you into the Velvet Echo Lounge afterparty, where a DJ will keep the night rolling with music, drinks, and good company!

Author and journalist T.J. English is coming to FUSION on Friday, October 9, at 6 PM as part of the Rising High Arts Festival. English is the author of Dangerous Rhythms: Jazz and the Underworld, and is currently on tour for his latest book, Blood in the Desert: The T. J. English Reader. Bringing another dimension of storytelling, Blood in the Desert spans subjects as varied as jazz, boxing, police corruption, and violence in the desert Southwest. A follow-up interview will be conducted by Hakim Bellamy, the inaugural Poet Laureate of Albuquerque, NM (2012-2014).

You’re invited to the opening reception of The Poetry of Flowers Exhibition on Friday, October 2, from 4–6:30 PM, as part of the ABQ Artwalk and the First Friday ARTScrawl.

The Poetry of Flowers Collaborative developed organically—perhaps even a little haphazardly. Each artist brought a personal connection, a particular talent, or a completely unexpected way of seeing a flower. Maggie Seeley, the poet, initiated or responded to that vision with words, and then the artwork and poem began to speak to one another.

After the opening, the AABA Artist Member Exhibition will be on view at FUSION from October 2–November 7 during public FUSION events or by appointment.

The Albuquerque Art Business Association (AABA) is proud to present the 2026 AABA Full Members Exhibition at FUSION, as an official part of Rising High Arts Festival, celebrating the remarkable diversity, creativity, and talent of Albuquerque’s artist community.

The exhibition will open with a public Opening Reception during Albuquerque’s First Friday ARTScrawl on Friday, October 2, from 5:00–7:00 PM. The exhibition will remain on view throughout the month of October, inviting visitors to experience a broad range of artwork created by AABA’s Artist Members.

The public is invited to experience this exhibition and discover the breadth of talent represented by Albuquerque’s working artists. Admission is free, and all are welcome.

After the opening reception, the AABA Artist Member Exhibition will be on view at FUSION from October 2 through October 31 during public FUSION events or by appointment.
