Artist Statement:
More than an artist I consider myself a medium or a tool to give existence to visions that want to be seen by us. They could be from my own or our common subconscious or even from another dimension. Therefore, Abstract Expression is a selfless and thoughtless process for me. My most successful works are the ones that I have created most spontaneously. Follow me on Twitter @AbolB

Another busy Sunday here Torpedo Factory Art Center. I arrived early to reorganize my studio walls, replacing sold and loaned pieces with new works for upcoming exhibits. Check out my story for current shows.
Honored to share that my piece, “Flying Solo” (mixed media painting on 36×36” wood panel), has been selected by juror Milan Warner for The Art League August 2026 Open Exhibit! ✨🎨
Driven by influences from classical Baroque art and traditional Persian Miniatures, this work plays with contrast, movement, grand scale, and exuberant detail. Layering altered insect wings, a leaf skeleton, and a crowned mannequin figure alongside architectural forms, it’s a study in strength, grace, and discovery—a nod to the powerful women who shape us, especially my mother.
✨ Opening Details & Dates:
🗓 Exhibit Duration: August 12 – September 6
🥂 Opening Reception: Friday, August 14 | 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
📍 Location: The Art League Gallery
Bonus: Make sure to stop by my studio before or after the reception! It’s just steps away from the gallery, and the art center will be open until 10:00 PM.

New neighborhood art unlock! 🎨✨
We had to pull over immediately when these popped up on our regular route home! 🚗💨
Spotted these incredible, masterful murals covering a building under renovation on Columbia Pike (Annandale, VA). The detail and precision—especially behind the tight pipes and narrow spaces—is insane. 🎨🔥
Huge shoutout to the artist Golden Rabbit • Silent Monkey for turning an everyday drive into an outdoor gallery! 👏

“Final Battle” is my third attempt at clay sculpting, a new field of art for me that I am starting to really enjoy despite the struggle with gravity (yes, everything falls). I am learning patience too. In this rather spontaneous work, I am expressing movement, attraction, and repulsion. The patina is still in process as I am learning how different shades and colors respond on 3D surfaces vs 2D. My many thanks goes to my dear teacher George Tkabladze George Tkabladze and The Art League School The Art League.
Visit my studio Torpedo Factory Art Center this Friday-Sunday to see this piece with its final touches.
