1st Place in Class 1A at the Downers Grove Music Bowl this past Saturday with the high scores in the captions of Music Performance and General Effect. Now onto the last two weeks of the season with the D300 Exhibition at Hampshire High School on Tuesday, Senior Night on October 16 and the Illinois State Marching Band Championship at ISU on October 17.

This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Jacobs High School Music Department, we are inviting all former orchestra students to come back and celebrate with us at our concerts this year. For our Fall Concert, we will also have a guest Conductor Clark Chaffee, who was the Orchestra Director from 1983-93!

Whether you graduated recently or it’s been decades since you sat in the orchestra room, we’d love to see you back at Jacobs!

Come hear our current orchestras, reconnect with old friends, and help us celebrate 50 years of music, and musicians at Jacobs High School. Please share this with anyone you know that was in the JHS Orchestra.

Another really great performance today at NIU - 2nd place in a crowded 1A field of 10 bands, having the highest “Music Performance” score in the class, and tying for 6th place overall out of 22 bands from throughout all of the classes, 1A - 4A.

With almost 50% of the band being first year members, the kids are off to a strong start in 2026. 1st place in Class 1A competition while winning the awards for High Music, High Percussion and High General Effect at Lake Park.

Even in this crazy heat wave, it’s fun to share performance time with these future Golden Eagles from DMS and WCS.

On-Target Sales

It's that time of year once again. Golden Eagle Marching Band members will be out and about asking for community support through donations. Tag Day is the marching band's only fundraiser of the fall, and donations are put directly towards marching band specific equipment, instruments and transportation. This even helps us with some hidden costs that people may not be aware of like contest and copyright compliance fees. We truly appreciate everyone's support of these fine students. THANK YOU!

Once again, these band and orchestra kids did not disappoint at the 5th grade demonstrations today at WCS, Neubert, Lincoln Prairie and Lake in the Hills elementary schools. The 5th graders really seemed excited by what they saw and heard.

So great to see a GEMB FMM (former marching member), Adrienne Garcia, perform with Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps this past Saturday. She did awesome!

Here are a few fun pics from our first-ever GEMB team building bowling night. Everyone had a good time, ate a lot and got to know each other a little better before the season begins. Thank you Lucky Strike Bowling in Algonquin for providing the lanes and shoes.
