All Things New

Today is the most I’ve wanted to be in Haiti since we left the country. One of my favorite memories is being down there during World Cups, and now Haiti is playing! If you are not watching it, stop what you are doing right now and turn it on. It’s truly a historic moment.

Continuing to speak with the kids about their future, there have been some happy and sad conversations, but the one thing I cannot shake is how many of them just want to leave Haiti...for good. It is a hard reality, but we continue to try and help them in the best way we can!

I was talking to Herbison yesterday about his future, and one thing struck me more deeply than usual...Haiti is a hard place to have a future right now. It was not a sad conversation, and I was proud of Herbison because his sister Dinna was one of the main things he factored in when planning his future. But it was hard to hear the truth about what the future there looks like. Please be in prayer as we are going through this process with all of our kids.

Our kids are growing up, and we are starting the process of assimilating them into the real world! Be on the lookout for future blogs and information about how we are doing this, but our first 2 kids are in the process of finding their own place and beginning to plan for their future. It is exciting, scary, and needed!
