Send Hope supports and assists over 1,500 children in the remote area of Puerto Lempira, Honduras. The House of Hope was opened in the spring of 2005.
It houses partially disabled children while they continue their education at the School of Hope. It also houses malnourished babies and their families. There are 16 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a kitchen and large eating area. While the number of residents varies, as malnourished babies are able to return to their homes, approximately 35 - 45 people live in the House of Hope. The School of Hope, located adjacent to the House of Hope, has approximately 130 students enrolled. Send Hope partners with educators throughout the region to provide school supplies for classrooms and families that cannot afford them. Another way we strive to keep children in school is to provide Kids Against Hunger meals that the schools provide at lunchtime. Our feeding program currently has over 1,200 malnourished children enrolled. Throughout the year we host medical and dental teams that work in our community and travel to very remote villages.

đź’” Emergency Update: One of our youth Needs Our Help!
Friends of Send Hope, we need to lean on our community today for something unexpected.
One of our beloved youth has recently taken ill and was diagnosed with appendicitis. She is currently at the clinic receiving wonderful care and comfort, but she urgently needs to be transported to the larger town nearby for an emergency operation with a capable surgeon.
The great news is that doctors expect her to make a full recovery once she gets this surgery! 🩺✨
However, urgent medical emergencies like this are hard to predict, and they fall outside our standard operating budget. To recover the costs of her emergency procedure and keep Send Hope running, we need to raise $1,400 urgently.

🏡 Exciting news from Casa Esperanza!
If you’ve stayed in our Guest House over the years, you might remember it was showing a little wear and tear—complete with some unwelcome roommates like termites and bats!
We are thrilled to share that the Guest House is almost completely rebuilt! To ensure this beautiful structure stays strong, safe, and welcoming for decades to come, we are currently in the middle of the final step: painting the exterior.
Because of our climate and past pest issues, we are using specialized termite- and moisture-resistant paint to protect the new building from the elements.

Our amazing young people jumped into action a few weeks ago, alongside the leadership of Send Hope, serving at a local soup kitchen. To say we are proud of them is an understatement!

Strong Moral Character & Work Ethic: They seek out service with hardworking hands and humble, down-to-earth hearts. Pictured here is them helping translate and assist local families in finding clothes that fit.

đź’” SIX SIBLINGS LOST. WE CANNOT LET BABY ESEQUIEL BE THE SEVENTH.
Look closely at Baby Esequiel’s eyes in this photo. They are tired. His skin is dusky. At just 1 year old, Baby Esequiel is fighting for his life against Grade 2 malnutrition.
The heartbreaking reality? His family has already buried six of his siblings, who all tragically lost their lives to malnutrition.
This is the devastating crisis of food insecurity—but it is a crisis we can prevent.

Meet Noah. He is a sweet boy living with Cerebral Palsy in the House of Hope. He has been with us for many years, and many who have visited our children's home in Puerto Lempira know and love him.
Noah is non-ambulatory and has completely outgrown his stroller.
Right now, Noah has a fever. Our devoted caregivers at the House of Hope have made the difficult journey through muddy roads to the clinic, his tender feet at times dragging in the dirt along the way. You can see here in this video they just shared, what care they have taken to clean him. You can imagine the difficult bumpy ride.
It doesn't have to be this way.
