A tough day on the scoreboard, but a good day for rugby.
Our new players and growing Exiles Men’s side came up against a very talented Old White team yesterday. As for the score in the graphic… we stopped counting somewhere along the way, so 9,455 feels about right. 😂 They did miss a conversion, though.
The result certainly didn’t go our way, but the match was played throughout with the utmost class, respect, and sportsmanship.
A sincere thank you to Old White for the match, the hospitality, and the camaraderie throughout the day. We also greatly appreciated members of their executive leadership taking the time to greet and welcome us upon our arrival. That’s what club rugby is all about.
We wish Old White the very best across their sides’ respective seasons.
For us, it’s back to work. We keep building, keep growing, and keep moving forward together.
🏅 Exiles Men of the Match: Choppy & Jun
Well done, men.
And a special mention to Shreyas — Mr. Try Time himself — who found the line yet again.
A special treat for our Club Chairman as well, who had the opportunity to meet Matt Heaton, former Canada International and Rugby Canada Men’s Captain. 🇨🇦🏉
And, most importantly…
We won the boat race.

Tonight was a pretty special club moment.
The Exiles Men’s side came together and presented U19 player Trav Loving with one of their retired Men’s jerseys in recognition of his dedication and commitment to Exiles Rugby.
It was a gesture from the Men to a young player they’ve watched show up, put in the work, and become part of the club.
There’s something special about a jersey that has already represented Exiles Rugby being passed from the Men who have worn it to a young man who represents the future of our club.
And who knows where that future leads. Maybe one day Trav pulls on a jersey representing the United States. Wherever the game takes him, we hope he’ll always remember one of the first jerseys handed to him by the men who were proud to call him one of their own.
Well earned, Trav. Keep going.

THE NEW LOOK. 🟢⚫🟡
Traditional rugby collar. Green and old gold. Black shorts. Black socks. A kit built to look like rugby should.
The Exiles Men will wear it for the first time this weekend, and we’re looking forward to debuting the new look in front of our supporters traveling to Atlanta for the away match.
A massive thank you to Olde Blind Dog, Propper AI, Fuel Coffee Roasters, and First Line Defense for their continued support of Exiles Rugby. We’re proud to carry your names onto the pitch.
And a big thank you to Paladin Sports for delivering a fantastic product and bringing the new Exiles kit to life.
See you Saturday.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO PLAY RUGBY TO BELONG TO A RUGBY CLUB.
Here in Milton, Alpharetta and North Fulton, Exiles Rugby Club extends beyond the players who wear the jersey. We’re players, families, former players, supporters, business owners and neighbors — people who want to belong to something local, lasting and worth being part of.
Come to a home match. Bring your family. Meet the players who represent your community and get to know the people who call Exiles their club.
You don’t have to fight your way down 400 or around 285 to find exciting sports. It’s right here in your own backyard.
And when Exiles takes the field, you get to say:
“That’s my club.”
We’re only getting started. More rugby. Bigger events. Stronger community partnerships. More opportunities for young people and adults. And, one day, a permanent home of our own — our grounds, our field and our clubhouse.
Social Membership is $70 a year.
You’re not donating to a team from the outside. You’re becoming a member of Exiles Rugby Club.
Every new member strengthens what we have today and helps create what comes next.
A club to call your own.

PLAYER SHOUTOUT: SHREYAS
This is Shreyas, aka Freddie Mercury (you need to see him in the aviators and just the ’stache), aka Try Time.
Why Try Time? He scored in his first-ever 7s match, then scored again in his first-ever XVs match. Apparently nobody explained to him that rugby isn’t usually that easy.
Standing an imposing 3’1” in rugby boots, we think, Shreyas also has absolutely no fear. He’ll run straight at someone twice his size, throw himself into a tackle, get back up grinning, and do it again. Official measurements remain pending.
But what really deserves the shoutout is how much this guy shows up, on and off the pitch.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Shreyas rides an electric scooter from Roswell to Alpharetta for training. Like clockwork. He puts in the work, always lends a hand, asks questions, listens, and genuinely wants to improve his rugby knowledge and his game.
And he does it all with a great sense of humor. He takes the inevitable rugby banter in stride and is usually more than willing to give it right back.
Clubs are blessed to have guys like Shreyas. Guys who show up, want to learn, contribute, have a laugh, and become part of the fabric of the club.
We’re damn glad he’s here.
All 3’1” of him. We think. 😂

One of us.

🏆🌴🌲 THE PALMS & PINES CUP 🌲🌴🏆
This November and February, the Exiles and Hilton Head Island RFC will meet in a home-and-home series for one of club rugby’s newest and unquestionably most prestigious prizes: the Palms & Pines Cup. The opening match will be played among the palms of Hilton Head on November 14, with the return fixture among the pines of North Fulton on February 6.
The rules are simple. Each match counts as one win, with no aggregate scoring because we’re rugby clubs, not accountants. If the series finishes tied at one match apiece, the Cup will be decided in the traditional and entirely sensible rugby manner: a Boat Race. 🍺
When asked about the Exiles’ chances of lifting the inaugural Cup, Jack “Captain Jack” Madden was characteristically confident. “I think our chances of lifting the Cup are really good. They have a Welsh guy. Who even does that anymore!? If it comes down to a Boat Race to determine the winner, I mean, c’mon. Have you seen our tight five?”
When informed of Madden’s comments, Hilton Head Spiritual Leader & Shaman Alex “Sand In My Speedo” MacDonald appeared genuinely concerned, responding simply, “Wait. We got a Welsh guy!?”
At the time of publication, Hilton Head had offered no further clarification regarding the Welsh situation, and the identity, whereabouts, and current drinking form of the alleged Welshman remain under investigation.

Two clubs. Two matches. One Cup. And absolutely no reason whatsoever for this to become overly competitive, petty, personal, or the subject of several months of increasingly questionable social media posts. 🏉🍻
