IMPACT CIL’s Trivia Night fundraiser was a great success!

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make the evening so much fun. Because of you, we raised funds that will directly support our Independent Living Fund and the individuals we serve.

We truly appreciate our amazing community—your support makes a difference!

Today, IMPACT CIL celebrates the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!

This landmark civil rights law expanded access and opportunity for millions of Americans with disabilities.

The ADA serves as a vital foundation that ensures equal rights, access, and inclusion in employment, public services, communication, and everyday life. Because of the ADA, barriers have been challenged, and doors have opened—but the work is not done.

We continue to advocate, educate, and push forward to protect and strengthen disability rights for future generations.

July 2026 Heartbeat of the Month™: Kate McMahon 07/20/2026

The July 2026 Heartbeat of the Month™ is Kate McMahon, Senior Vice President of Operational Development at Fairmount Park.

McMahon was nominated by Cindy Klein-Webb for her work with students in the Collinsville High School Special Education Career Pathways Program. Klein-Webb said McMahon has made every effort to work with the students. On June 19, when the students job shadowed at the park, McMahon personally trained them.

McMahon has also arranged for staff to volunteer with the Collinsville Food Pantry and SOS Soup Kitchen, and is working on gathering volunteers to volunteer with Faith in Action to clean up yards and out gutters for seniors

Klein-Webb described McMahon's leadership with Fairmount Park as an excellent example of a business supporting the community.

The Heartbeat of the Month™ will be announced each month from nominations of the community. If you know someone who should be recognized for their selfless dedication to serving the Collinsville community, please email Stephanie Malench at [email protected].

Cynthia Klein-Webb is an Independent Living Specialist Career Pathways Coordinator at IMPACT CIL.
