Plant Em

This weekend is FULL of special events. Homecoming parade and football game tonight, my son’s first homecoming dance and my nieces wedding tomorrow.

Unfortunately Covid has decided to ruin my entire weekend.

I am so incredibly sorry that I have to follow protocol and close the store this weekend.

Please check out PlantEmAlton.com

Reach out if you have any questions or see something you would like me to hold for you.

🔔🔔Plant Em will be closed this Saturday 10/3 to see this beautiful niece of mine marry her best friend.
🪴🌵I will be open Friday 11-6, and Sunday 12-4🌵🪴

💚 Neon Pothos vs. 💚 Neon Philodendron

Can you tell them apart? 👀

They may look almost identical at first glance, but these are actually two different plants!

🌿 NEON POTHOS — Epipremnum aureum ‘Neon’
📸 First photo

✨ Leaves tend to be thicker and more waxy
✨ Leaf shape is a little more elongated and less perfectly heart-shaped
✨ New growth can be an almost glowing chartreuse
✨ Vining habit with those classic pothos trailing stems
✨ Generally very forgiving and an excellent beginner plant

🌱 NEON PHILODENDRON — Philodendron hederaceum ‘Lemon Lime’
📸 Second photo

✨ Leaves are more distinctly heart-shaped
✨ Foliage tends to be a little softer and more delicate looking
✨ New leaves emerge a beautiful yellow-green and deepen as they mature
✨ Also a trailing/vining plant
✨ Equally easygoing and a great choice for beginners

So what’s the easiest way to tell them apart?

Look at the leaves! 👀
The pothos usually has a thicker, slightly less symmetrical leaf, while the philodendron has that unmistakable heart shape and softer-looking foliage.

And here’s the fun part…
They’re both beautiful, fast-growing, easy-care plants that can brighten up a space with that gorgeous neon color. 💚

Which one would you choose?
🌿 Neon Pothos or 💚 Neon Philodendron?

Both are available at Plant Em! 🪴✨

I’m running a few minutes late this morning. I’ll be in shortly!

Another succulent in bloom 😍
These Medusa Head succulents have the cutest yellow flowers. They are so tiny! It is so hard to get a good close up photo.

🌸 OH. MY. GOODNESS. I WISH YOU COULD SMELL THESE PICTURES. 🌸

One of the sweetest little surprises about String of Pearls and String of Tears is their flowers.

They may be tiny… but their fragrance is INCREDIBLE. 🤯

These little blooms put out the most surprisingly powerful scent. It’s sweet, warm, floral, and almost a little spicy—like a tiny plant-sized perfume filling the air around them. And somehow, these teeny-tiny flowers can perfume an entire little corner of the room. 🌸✨

You would NEVER expect something this small to smell this amazing.

This is one of those plant moments that makes me stop what I’m doing and just enjoy it. 🥹🌿

Tiny flowers. HUGE fragrance.

And yes… I really wish Facebook and Instagram had a scratch-and-sniff feature. 😂💚

This handsome young man has a marching band competition this morning! 🥁💚

Because I’m a proud mama first, Plant Em will be opening a little later than usual today. I should be there around noon instead of 11!

While you’re waiting for me, check out all the other amazing shops along Broadway and beyond. 🛍️✨

It’s the perfect day to shop local, support small businesses, and discover something new!

I’ll see you at Plant Em around noon! 🌿💚
