Oh you know, we’re just out here playin in the rain! Feast or famine, drought or flood…things gotta get done!

Fall colors! We are loving this break from the heat (and so are the plants)!

We love it when our different projects and programs overlap. One of the wonderful Venezuelan ladies we know from The PLACE came by the farm to let us try some coffee she’s making as a little side business. She ended up staying for a few hours helping harvest, learning how we process, and just talking about life. These little moments are beautiful reminders of what it means to be community!

Today, we’re especially grateful for the gift we have in our very own Development Director, Kara. ❤️

We couldn’t let this day come to an end without celebrating her and wishing her the biggest, happiest birthday!

Kara gives so much of herself to our organization. Through her dedication, talents, wisdom, and tireless work, she continually finds ways to strengthen what we do and help move our mission forward. So much of what happens behind the scenes is possible because of her commitment, and we are incredibly thankful for the heart and energy she pours into this team.

Today is a beautiful reminder that the people who give their gifts so generously are gifts themselves. We are so grateful for Kara—not only for all she does, but for who she is and for the joy, care, and purpose she brings to our team.

It’s always worth remembering…there’s lots of beauty in this world, but it’s up to all of us to cultivate it.

(This isn’t just about veggies, btw 😉)

Sometimes you get to work and realize you’ve inadvertently twinned! The real question is…Who wore it best?!?!

We all know there’s only one right answer (and it’s not him) 😜

We’re thankful for volunteers from FirstBank Southwest who worked hard in this blast furnace of August. They helped us put up phase one of a greenhouse/outdoor classroom for the awesome new school on the Northside, goldenplainscommunityschool! We love seeing good people do good things for the community!

Collaboration is how we create change!

The heat has slowed things down at the urban farm and everything we harvested this week already has a home. Because of that, we won’t have any extra tomorrow morning. Things should be better next week and we will plan on having things for market next Friday!

Corn is still sweet and good! Feel free to get out there and pick some. Check out our other posts if you need instructions!
BUT if you can’t make it out there, we do have some that our crew picked today…along with some of our cheap frills salad mix we harvested yesterday. Come see us from 9-12 at the urban farm on 6th st tomorrow (Friday)!
