The Historic Amarillo Building

We always love the chance to show off a little Amarillo history! The Texas Historical Commission State Board of Review was in town recently and stopped by on their Friday afternoon walking tour. The group spent some time exploring Frame by Frame, our new art installation featuring 100 historic photos that help tell the story of Amarillo. We especially enjoyed getting to share it with a group that has such an appreciation for Texas history and historic preservation! A big thank you to Beth Duke with Center City of Amarillo for bringing everyone by and helping us share a little piece of Amarillo's story with visitors from across the state. We loved having you!

Amarillo, thank you for coming out to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Historic Amarillo Building! Hundreds of people turned out to see the “Frame by Frame: 100 Years of History” photo exhibit. We heard so many stories from people who had connections to the early history of the building. Most of all, we created one more moment together as a community that honors the people who have come before us and looks ahead to those that are yet to come.
