Sporting OC we will be playing Week #14 of the Spring/Summer on Sunday, August 9th, 2026 against RICHMAN FC at 12:30 p.m. in EDISON PARK (BAXTER & ROMNEYA, OFF of the 91 & State College) please be there at 12:00 p.m., Parking is limited). We will need EVERYONE to be ready for this game. We are hitting the last few weeks of the season.
We are 7-3-4 after 14 games, and we haven’t been consistent. We have not set the tone from our opposition because we have not been dominant and we have not been able to build the lead that we want.
Our lopsided performance over Kobra Kai was a great result. Can we second that showing? We have not won back-to-back games in a while, and we need an overwhelming showing if we want a playoff appearance. We need a win. Bottom line.
We haven’t been consistent. Let’s call things for what they are. It’s evident that we are not playing like a playoff team. Truth be told.
We got to respect whenever a teammate is on the deck. We back them up and we don’t showcase them in public. If we cannot play as a team in the next couple of weeks, then it defies the purpose of coming together every Sunday. We will need a consistent streak if we want to make the post season.
No one is too big or too small for this team regardless of tenure, and service that has been devoted to the team. At the end of the day we are all in for the same purpose: victories and fun. When those two factors are taken out of the game, then it becomes pointless. This is the last time that this will be mentioned. No further warnings from here on.
Let’s be fired up, and ready to go as we cannot give away any handicaps. Let’s do this! The season flows at a quick rate.

As we’ve seen in the past, there is no margin of error for “slow starters”. We are capable of great things when we have FULL PERSONNEL and a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. The !

•Referee fee is EXACTLY $10 per player for each game.
• We require full compromise and commitment from everyone, whoever joins please do it for more than two games. We really need to make something out of this season. Having a large roster and only have at most 16 people show up for the meaningful games is not condoned. Those who can’t make at least half of the games, please let me know.
WE WILL ALL NEED:
• POSITIVE ATTITUDE (MOST IMPORTANT ONE OF THEM ALL). We're not professional gentlemen. There is no need to be degrading our teammates when things aren't clicking.
• Let's be competitive all the way to the end.
• We need EVERYONE who is COMMITTED to be there ON TIME for proper warm-ups, set up the nets and have proper planning.
• UNEXCUSED absences will no longer be tolerated.
• PLEASE keep in mind that we will be wearing our:
• White & grey shirt with orange typography.
• Orange shorts with black trims.
• Black socks w/ orange stripes (which will be provided for those who recently joined. Quantities are limited).
• Those who will not be making the game please notify the team so we can put together a backup plan.

Last Sunday’s epic 4-4 draw (hat trick from Carlos Bonilla, and a late score from Odvin López) was a tale of two halves. Sporting OC played its worst first half of the season, followed by the best half of the year. And that’s where the problem lies. We can’t be consistent. We didn’t lose the game, yes, but it is evident that we are not playing like a playoff team. Truth be told.

We played very solidly on last Sunday’s friendly against United FC. We won 2-0, but we left a few doubts. Especially from a behavioral standpoint. This weekend's game is vital IF we want to have a chance to sneak into the playoffs. It's not that we have had a bad season, we just haven't been consistent when we've required it. Last call!

Our 3-2 defeat against TRES GENERACIONES(goals by Enrique Chacón and Angel Bautista) showed us that we are a bipolar team. We can be great enough a 2-0 lead, and bad enough to implode in a span of 12 minutes and manage to lose the game. UNACCEPTABLE.
We will be playing a very difficult schedule from here on. We cannot afford to drop our rhythm, pace and points.
