We bring free, 1-on-1, online tutoring to underserved communities around the nation. Education should not be dictated by circumstance.

And yet, for over 34 million underserved students throughout the nation, circumstances are depriving them of quality parental guidance, peer support, or the resources needed to thrive academically. That’s where Learn To Be comes in. Learn To Be is a non-profit bringing free, 1-on-1, online tutoring to underserved communities around the nation. We partner with schools and other non-profits to bring

How important is summer tutoring? Very. 📚

Summer can be a break from school without being a break from learning.

For some of our students, these months have meant building confidence, strengthening skills, and heading into a new school year feeling a little more ready than before.

And we don’t have to say it ourselves. Their families are already seeing it.

Swipe to see what parents in the Learn To Be community have shared about the difference tutoring can make during the summer and beyond.

Here’s to walking into a new school year with more confidence than we started with!

Every tutor brings more than a lesson plan to each session.

Some spend weekends hiking with a camera.

Some unwind by painting, writing stories, playing tennis, or solving chess puzzles.

Some love designing T-shirts, organizing community events, or expressing themselves through music.

These passions don’t stay outside the classroom. They shape the patience, creativity, curiosity, and encouragement our tutors bring to every student they meet.

This International Friendship Day, we’re celebrating the people behind the lessons and the connections that grow when tutors and students get to know one another.

Because sometimes, the most meaningful part of tutoring isn’t just what we learn. It’s who we learn it with.

Happy International Friendship Day! 💙

"She is very patient and really knows how to connect with kids. My children felt comfortable with her right away, and that made a big difference in how they learned."

When Larry retired, he knew he wasn't ready to stop making a difference.

He found Learn To Be in 2021, and what started as a new way to spend his retirement has grown into more than 528 hours of volunteer tutoring. Along the way, he's helped students improve their grades, build confidence, and discover that learning can feel exciting again.

One student raised their math grade from the low 70s to a 91. Another moved up an entire academic level after state testing. Those are the kinds of stories that keep Larry coming back.

His journey is a reminder that meaningful impact isn't limited by age or career stage.

You can change a life at any stage of yours.

Thank you, Larry, for showing us what lifelong service looks like.

If you'd like to read more about Larry's story, you can find it on our Wall of Love (linked in the comments / on our website).

If you've ever thought about becoming a volunteer tutor, we'd love to have you join us. More information is on the last slide.

A student finally believing they can solve a problem on their own. A breakthrough after weeks of practice. A volunteer deciding to show up again next week because they know one hour can make a difference.

Those moments don't always make headlines, but they change lives.

That's what makes Janelle, Aayushi, and Sohum this year's
Most Valuable Chapter Tutors.

Thank you for the time, patience, and heart you've poured into your students, your chapters, and the Learn To Be community.
Your impact reaches far beyond a single tutoring session.

We’re so grateful to celebrate all you've accomplished.

If you've ever thought about becoming a volunteer tutor or starting a Learn To Be chapter at your school, we'd love to have you join us. You'll find more information on the last slide.
