Pirates in Batavia ran for 30 years at Europa Park before a fire consumed the entire ride and all its animatronics in 2018. The park rebuilt it with Garner Holt animatronics and reopened in 2020. The founder himself got an animatronic cameo as a magician. Some accidents end up in something better!

A fire broke out in the Enchanted Tiki Room and destroyed Iago beyond repair. The burnt Iago animatronic survived. The normal one didn’t. Disney could not have written this better.

Big Tex has been greeting people at the State Fair of Texas since 1952. In 2012 an electrical fire started inside the structure and in five minutes a 52 foot cowboy was completely gone. They rebuilt him bigger. Sometimes that’s just how it goes.

Animatronic dinosaurs and fire are not a good combination and we have multiple cases to prove it. A 90 foot Argentinosaurus burned to the ground before it even opened. A T-Rex named Chicken literally blew his top.

We are still not okay. Murphy is gone. The most chaotic animatronic in Disney history caught fire mid show in 2023 and burned completely to the ground and we will never be over it.

They built a giant King Kong animatronic for the Skull Island premiere and it literally caught fire in front of everyone and people thought it was part of the show. It was not. But the movie still screened after that!
