Fur Rondy

The Lord and Lady Trapper tradition is about more than honoring individuals. It's about celebrating everything that makes Anchorage such a special place to live. Every nomination tells the story of someone who has helped build a stronger, kinder, and more connected community. Join us in nominating the 2027 Fur Rondy Lord or Lady Trapper.

Whose story should we hear this year? Nominations open now until November 1 at furrondy.net.

One of the most inspiring parts of Clara Baldwin's reign as Fur Rondy Queen has been watching her help make Fur Rondy more welcoming for everyone.

As the first profoundly deaf Fur Rondy Queen, Clara showed that leadership is about breaking barriers, building connections, and creating opportunities for others. Her dedication to community advocacy and accessibility has left a lasting impact on the festival and Anchorage.

Who has inspired you to think differently about leadership? We'd love to hear their story in the comments.

Applications for the next Fur Rondy Queen open NOW at furrondy.net.

Every tradition continues because someone chooses to carry it forward.

The Fur Rondy Heritage Ambassador is an opportunity for an Alaska Native woman to represent her culture, her community, and the traditions that have shaped Alaska for generations. Whether you're a student, artist, dancer, language learner, educator, or community volunteer, your story matters, and we'd love to see you share it with others. Applications open September 1 at furrondy.net.

Sometimes the people who have made the biggest difference in our lives are also the least likely to seek the spotlight. That's exactly why we ask our community to help us find them.

Fur Rondy Lord and Lady Trapper represent the spirit of Anchorage through service, leadership, and a genuine love for our community. If someone in your life fits that description, we'd love to hear their story. Nominations open September 1 at furrondy.net.
