ALP Community,
We want to thank everyone who has reached out with kind words, prayers, and support after the fire last Tuesday. Your care and encouragement mean so much to all of us.
Right now, we are working through the mitigation and cleaning process and assessing the damage to our building. We are taking things one step at a time and will share updates as we learn more and better understand what our needs will be.
Thank you for standing with Alaska Literacy Program during this time. We are grateful to have such a caring community, and we appreciate your patience and support.

To our wonderful ALP Community,
We’re reaching out with some difficult news. A fire occurred outside of ALP that caused damage inside our building, and out of caution, we’ll be closing for the rest of this week while we assess the damage and begin the cleanup process.
We know this is a setback, but we’re grateful to be part of such a caring community, and we know we’ll get through this together. In the coming days, we’ll be sharing specific ways you can help, whether that’s through donations, supplies, or volunteer time. If you’d like to get a head start or have questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out directly to [email protected].
Thank you for your patience, your support, and your understanding as we navigate this. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
With gratitude,
The ALP Team

Pride month may be coming to a close, but not our commitment to providing adult education services for all. We are always proud to serve our Alaskan community, and we are even more proud of our students achieving new educational heights —from ESL classes, to digital literacy, to GED and test prep, to professional certifications. We believe everyone deserves a safe adult education space, regardless of who you are. Where you can be fully yourself and fully a student, and feel safe being both — that's what we're building at Alaska Literacy Program.
