For Immediate Release: Koahnic Broadcast Corporation Campaign Earns National Communicator Award Recognition for Marketing Effectiveness

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — On Monday, Koahnic Broadcast Corporation announced that the campaign supporting its 30th Annual Alaska Native Art Auction has been recognized with an Award of Distinction in the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards.

The campaign also helped generate statewide press attention in Alaska and opened national media conversations within the public media sector. Koahnic’s recognition places the organization’s campaign in a competitive national class that included PBS Reno, Arizona PBS, AT&T Multimedia, Bank of America, and other organizations and brands recognized by the Communicator Awards.

For many Native people, the version of California history taught in school does not tell the whole story.

For Brad Munoa, a citizen of the Pechanga Band of Indians, the inspiration for the People of the West Series, a new ten-part docuseries came after learning about a California history presentation at his son's school.
